Comments about Nikon Nikon 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR (Vibration Reduction) Wide Angle Telephoto Zoom Nikkor Lens - Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.:
I bought a refurbished one, no more brand new available, and i returned it because the inner barrel is too wobbly. I noticed also that picture taken from 80-120 is too dark/under exposed. sometimes it's having hard time focusing indoor.

Be shy of this one, it should say "Vivitar Series One......NOT NIKKOR
Comments about Nikon Nikon 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR (Vibration Reduction) Wide Angle Telephoto Zoom Nikkor Lens - Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.:
I bought this lens as a lightweight option (compared to my 24-70 f2.8 Nikkor) to carry around all the time. I was not thinking of it as a great lens, just one to have all the time. Having shot it a lot now, I have to say it is extremely sharp and contrasty and is a top notch zoom.

Comments about Nikon Nikon 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR (Vibration Reduction) Wide Angle Telephoto Zoom Nikkor Lens - Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.:
I replaced this with an 18-200 VR bec of range. No difference in IQ that I can see. The 24-120 seems more rugged, less plasticky, and made in Japan, not Thailand. I see no difference in VR effectivness but admittedly that may be because of the more limited upper range.
Not a pro lens, but is excellent travel lens if 24-120 is enough. Big advantage of the 18-200 is that it's all you need 80% of the time. With the 24-120 on a DX, you need other lenses with you 50% of the time.

Comments about Nikon Nikon 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR (Vibration Reduction) Wide Angle Telephoto Zoom Nikkor Lens - Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.:
As many reviews out there say, this lens is a disappointment. The average person might get what they need from it, but if you're a pro or even semi-pro, stay away from this one. The output is very inconsistent and unless you can stop down (higher f number), the sharpness isn't there. I use this lens with a Nikon D700 and if it weren't for the D700's exceptional low light performance, I would have returned this lens. The lens has an attractive 24-120mm range, and the VR is also appealing, but if you're used to the lenses that gave Nikon it's great reputation, you're in for a disappointment.
