Comments about Nikon Nikon 35mm f/2D AF Wide Angle Auto Focus Nikkor Lens - Gray Market:

Nice, sharp, and fast standard lens for DX sensors. Nice for HDSLR video on low light conditions. Very shallow depth of field, looks great. If coupled with a close-up filter pack and a reverse ring you could get a very powerfull and versatile macro lens for a limited budget as well.

Comments about Nikon Nikon 35mm f/2D AF Wide Angle Auto Focus Nikkor Lens - Gray Market:

This is a ready to go lens for both FX and DX. The 35mm focal length on FX and 52.5mm focal length on DX are both very useful. Its color and sharpness are also great. The best choice of a 35mm lens is of course the new 35 1.4G, but 35 f/2D is only around $300, which is a bargain for most people.

Comments about Nikon Nikon 35mm f/2D AF Wide Angle Auto Focus Nikkor Lens - Gray Market:

Simply one of the best Nikkor Lenses I have ever owned. The 35mm F/2 is a true gem to have in my bag. As a matter of fact, I keep it on my D300 most of the time. The lens is sharp, versatile, focuses quickly and accurately, lightweight, easy to handle, and rugged comparing to the 50mm F/1.8.

One of the best feature of this lens is its ability to focus very closely (about 12" in real life), which allows it to shoot almost as close as some macro lens. I don't even bother taking my macro lens out for ring shots at weddings, because the 35mm F/2 gets me close enough and have a workable depth of field for the shots I need.

I used to enjoy taking pictures of my food, and I used to love using the 50mm F/1.8, and then the 50mm F/1.4, but the 35mm F/2 makes it a breeze and feels just right for the job (for DX format).

All in all, if you own a DX body and want a quality general purpose lens, and if you plan on going full frame some day or already own a film body, this is the right lens for you. If you already own a D700, D3, D3x, or shoot strictly film, the 50mm F/1.4 would probably be a better fit.

Comments about Nikon Nikon 35mm f/2D AF Wide Angle Auto Focus Nikkor Lens - Gray Market:

This is a very versatile lens. Gives about a standard focal length for DX cameras and a wide angle on FX. Very sharp, compact, and fun lens to use. No complaints about the image quality. Construction could be a bit better, no hood is included, and could be a bit faster.

I find the focus to be fast enough with it on a D300. The new 30 1.8 DX version might focus quicker, but would be quieter. This is a good lens if you plan on using the lens with both DX and FX cameras. If you have a D40 or D60, would recommend you get the new 30 1.8 DX version.

Comments about Nikon Nikon 35mm f/2D AF Wide Angle Auto Focus Nikkor Lens - Gray Market:

A good lens to have if you want something around the 50mm length for a digital camera, as that is what is relates to after the small ccd chip conversion. Takes a good full length portrait and is small, not bad.
