I purchased this lens for indoor low light portraits and found that it does equally well as an all purpose low light lens.

I Bought this version refurbished from Adorama. It initially worked wonderfully, but within three months the autofocus failed. It took me awhile to figure out the problem because it was at first intermittent. And I had to go through the camera not shooting at all at times. I finally determined that the camera failure to shoot problem was a lens failure to focus problem, and if I focused manually it would shoot. So at three months I finally understood the problem, but the Adorma warrently period was over.
I now have a good manual lens, only. I am not sure it will be worth the cost to repair it. My confidence in Nikon equipment has also taken a hit and I am afraid to buy a new lens.
