Not alot of benefit when using with my D300S & 70-200mm VRII. Feel I can put the money spent on this product to better use elsewhere.

The Nikon series of Teleconverters is an economical and effective way to increase the effective focal length without the added expense, weight and space of another larger zoom lens. It comes at the cost of the loss of a stop (or more for the other TCs), but the trade-off is a fair one.

Great acessory for my 300mm f/4 lens. You need a little more light and a steady hand, but most of my results so far have been excellent. Also, since the 300mm f/4 does not have a back element, it adds some protection to the lens.

This seems to work very well with my Nikon VR 200-400 lens. Haven't tried it on any others yet. I use this with a D3, so FX frame.

I recently upgraded to the Nikkor 70-200 from the 70-300. The 1.4 teleconverter provided the extra reach I enjoyed with the 70-300 but allowed to shoot wide open at f4 instead of 5.6. Image quality is excellent and the focus is still lightning quick. I especially appreciate that it works seamlessly with the camera to report correct aperture and focal length.

I just used this teleconverter for a weekend of shooting a NSA tourney in Akron, OH. I put over 2500 shutter clicks on my camera with this teleconverter and it never missed a beat. The review below gives it a bad rating due to the fact AF did not work for his set. I used this thing with my Nikon D70 and a Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 ED-IF AF-S VR and it worked like a charm. I think the other reviewer might not have received the results he/she was looking for because it doesn't say anywhere in the product details that it would work with the set up he/she was using. It performed beyond my expectations for the whole weekend. My friend had the same lens/teleconverter set up as I and was using it with a Nikon D200 and he had the same results if not better than my own. This is a great addation to my bag!

Used with D100 and the expensive 300/f4 AF-s, this thing does not autofocus hardly ever. I can't get anyone to verify it is supposed to AF with this camera-lens combo. Every once in awhile it will AF, but most of the time not. A very expensive paperweight if you ask me. Unless one can certify their lens-camera combo actually will AF with this thing, I would pass it by. Note the ad blurb does not even mention D100 usage. If I wanted a good TC with no AF I could have got the Sigma for [$]less.

I have used this teleconverter with Nikon 70-200 and a Nikon 200-400mm lenses. The images are sharp with no discernable loss of sharpness or contrast. The Nikon 1.4 teleconverter is a welcome addition to my camera bag.
