Got this from adorama,and I couldn't be happier. Use with my 300 F4 afs lense and a D90. With decent light it will autofocus just fine. I have moon shots with finely defined mountains and craters. My tamron sp 1.4x doesn't even come close in sharpness. I wish it was cheaper but you get what you pay for.

I use it with a 70 - 200 VR 2.8 in the game parks of Southern Afica. It is great to be able to double up in this way. Results are superb. Only quibble is that autofocus is slowed.

Works fine with NON VR - 300 2.8 AFS II ...which is not listed ,even on the Nikon site. I emailed Nikon with the 300 2.8 lens part number to ask about compatibility and they emailed back..it will work fine with the VR lens ???whaa??
It's doesn't work with most lenses, ie/ 85/1.4 50/1.4D, 60/2.8D etc etc.

My main use for this is on my Nikon 200mm f2 VR lens. AF is not affected and consistently get more keepers than the TC-17e II that I previously used.
Could not be happier. Unless I had the money to buy a 400mm f2.8 600mm f4
