The lens performs as advertised for me. I make use of the full extent of the zoom range and don't have to carry other lenses. It does have some lens creep and VR would be nice. I haven't done detailed testing but quality is just fine for the real world. I now have around 5,000 exposures with it on everything from wide angle architectural to telephotos of wildlife. Autofocus is good and it is compact when retracted. It is very good value for the money.
