I've had this lens for almost 7 years and it's a work horse lens, never failed and great results the reason I'm on this site is to buy another one, we're extremely busy pro's, I've used this lens in the desert, Canadian winter and studio with brilliant results, highly recommend...

After I had this lens upgraded by Tamron to work with digital focus systems, it turned out to be one of the best lenses in my inventory. Although slightly heavy (32 oz), it has a wide enough range to be a solid outdoor one-lens-solution.

I was so excited to get a super lens when I bought this 6 years ago. I must say that I was let down. I hoped to use it for portriature but found my less expensive zoom was so superior that I pressed my back against the wall to use it instead. It was reasonable as an all around lens for the most part but hard to get sharp focus in the beginning and impossible now as there is a problem with it just 2 months after the warrenty has expired. All that I can say is that it is fast at 2.8. I would not buy this lens if I had it to do over again.
