Bought to go with my new Canon T2i. Wanted a single lens for most pix - but it's only good for 4x6 prints - NOT larger. Extremely soft at all focal lengths. Slow autofocus. NOT AS GOOD as my Canon kit 18-55mm. [...] Decided to buy better glass and keep changing lenses.

For the money there are much better lenses out there. I own other lenses... another Tamron (which I was trying to replace with this one), Tokina, Sigma and Canon and in comparison Tamron is very cheaply made! I will be returning mine and getting something else.

Comments about Tamron Tamron AF 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di VC (Vibration Compensation) Aspherical (IF) Auto Focus Zoom Lens for Canon EOS - U.S.A. Warranty:

I bought this as an all-purpose back up lens. It's brand new, and hasn't got much use yet.
Still, I own other Tamron lenses, and expect the same quality and durablity from this lens.
It does attach easily, and the electronics work fine. Wide angle distortion is within normal range. The vibration control is nice on long exposures. I'm happy with my purchase.

I use it for general photography. Haven't gotten a poor picture out of it yet and don't expect to. Operation is as smooth as silk, and tho slightly heavy,it is worth carrying every ounce.
Personally, I can find no fault with it.

Comments about Tamron Tamron AF 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di VC (Vibration Compensation) Aspherical (IF) Auto Focus Zoom Lens for Canon EOS - U.S.A. Warranty:

I shoot a lot of small birds, and water fowl. A tripod just isn't practical. This lens has enabled me to shoot several shutter speeds slower and still get pin sharp results. It will also help in my wedding photography. Won't have to constantly change from long lens to wide angle as often. I am very pleased with the performance of this lens.

Comments about Tamron Tamron AF 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di VC (Vibration Compensation) Aspherical (IF) Auto Focus Zoom Lens for Canon EOS - U.S.A. Warranty:

I really love my Tamron 28-300 mm lens. I have a little problem with being steady all the time and the vibration control (VC) really helps me a lot. It is even better for my girlfriend when she shoots low light situations with the VC. The large lens hood keeps out most of the glare that I have been getting with my 75-300 from canon. I no longer have to change lenses during wedding photography from my 18-55 to a 75-300. The Tamron is far superior in versatility to the canon 75-300mm that I used to have. My girlfriend has loved my lens so much she wants to buy her own. Maybe it will be her birthday present. [@]

Have had this lens for almost a year and it has easily become my all around choice. I have to get my daughter her own for Christmas or I might be loosing mine as she also is a big fan. I have a Canon 30D and she uses a XTsi. The results are great. We do alot of sport photog and action shot as well as portraits.

Comments about Tamron Tamron AF 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di VC (Vibration Compensation) Aspherical (IF) Auto Focus Zoom Lens for Canon EOS - U.S.A. Warranty:

Purchased this lens a few weeks back. It provides clear, sharp images. Focus is reasonably fast and is almost always on my 5D. Great for a walk around lens or in situations where carrying two or three lenses would be a hassle. Vibration compensation allows for shots with shutter speeds that would normally be too slow to shoot without a tripod. Only annoyance is the lens will creep forward via gravity when tilted toward the ground. Not a problem when shooting but you have to be careful when walking with it slung to your shoulder. Be sure to use the lens lock.

This lens could be a bad sample, but the image quality is just not acceptable. I am sending it back to exchange for another - hopefully much better.
