Comments about Tamron Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di 1:2 Auto Focus Macro Zoom Lens with Hood for the Maxxum & Sony Alpha Mount, 6 Year USA Warranty:

I use this on a Sony Alpha 350 for birdwatching and general use. It takes very clear pictures and isn't too heavy. The construction feels durable. The price is right and it fit a niche that we had for a good zoom lens.

Comments about Tamron Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di 1:2 Auto Focus Macro Zoom Lens with Hood for the Maxxum & Sony Alpha Mount, 6 Year USA Warranty:

Rather than getting a 500 mm lens, this offers a 105-450 mm zoom range on my Sony Alpha, and is useful in the field, handheld or on the tripod.

Comments about Tamron Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di 1:2 Auto Focus Macro Zoom Lens with Hood for the Maxxum & Sony Alpha Mount, 6 Year USA Warranty:

For around $[...], it's performance is as expected. The glass is sharp, it doesn't weigh a ton with the plastic body, but the AF searches in all but the brightest of light. I usually use MF for most cases. I would not recommend this for wildlife or action, but for everything else it's terrific.
