This is a poorly fitting poorly made product. I am afraid to apply the force necessary to mount it. I will not be using this hood on my nice canon lens!

I ordered three hoods at once, for three different lenses. The ones for my 70-300 and 10-22 worked fine (after some minor tweaking with an x-acto knife to shave off extra plastic bits.)
This one, however, is just poorly designed. To fit in the "shooting" position, it requires enough force that I am concerned about damaging the lens. It will not fit in the backward (storage) position at all. Too far out of tolerances to bother to try to fix with an x-acto knife. I'll be ordering the Canon instead. Avoid this, it's junk.

[@] this lens hood is a cheap [*] knockoff and has a significant quality difference compared to the genuine Canon lens hoods.It was way too tight (it would fit into the lens, but it was difficult to turn it into the final position without forcing it)I would recommend buying the Canon.
