I was looking for a replacement hood for my lens and stubbled upon this. You get what you pay for, but it does its job. It is flimsy, you do have to push it onto the camera. WHEN this breaks, I am going to buy an original Canon replacement.

I had a hard time getting this onto my lens when I first got it. My original hood from Canon slipped on and locked into place easily. This hood, when I first put it on, didn't seem to every be straight. It would look into place, but crooked. I finally figured out that you gave to give it a pretty firm push to get it on, then twist and lock. This firm push makes me think that sooner or later, it's going to crack. I don't think this is going to last as long as my Canon hood. I'm going to keep using it, but when I replace it, I think I'll just go ahead and spend more for a Canon-brand replacement.

I trimed off the bottom to cut out stadium lights on my 24-105. It works great! It looks like a baseball cap. As an as is product it is as good as the Canon original.

I ordered this lens hood thinking I was getting a genuine Canon lens hood. What I got was a cheap [*] knockoff. The hood is a tight fit on my Canon lens, the plastic is thinner than the original hood. My original lens hood cracked after about 3 years of use, I doubt this one will last as long. The inside is a rough plastic and not lined with velvet flocking like the original. [$] I feel like I wasted my money.

Slightly flimsier than the original, but still a good value. Definitely a better deal than buying Canon's replacement hood.
