Everything is great with this product. It is very needed...I had a lot of lens flare before I purchased this product. Since I have been using the lens hood, my pictures are coming out so much better due to cutting out the flare. Highly recommend.

The 50mm/1.4 definitively needs a lens hood more so to prevent flares than for protection. I've had some bad experiences with flares on this lens. This one does an excellent job of preventing flares.
