The eyecup works but I think the instructions are bogus. The instructions say to re-attach the original rubber ring (the one already on the camera eyepiece) to the eyecup assembly. I couldn't get it to work. I simply put the naked eyepiece part INTO the eyecup, attached the supplied ring and then re-attached THAT assembly to the camera. That was the only way I could get it to work. Nikon should either build the eyecup into their cameras or not make it an accessory option at all.

Relatively easy to attach. Does what it should do. Makes camera somehow bigger and a little more difficult to fit into the camera bag.
Overall worth it's money.

I'm still not convinced I'm installing this correctly, despite carefully following the instructions. The eye cup got knocked off so many times, I've given up. I was taking up valuable time trying to get it back on the camera instead of shooting. The idea of it is great, but the rubber comes off much too easily to be practical.

It took a minute to get it on properly but is well built and works great. I was getting beat up shooting water skiers and this helped immensely. I only gave it 4 stars because you have to use parts of the original which is clearly stated in the instructions, but it would be nice if Nikon would sell it as a stand alone piece so you can go back and forth easier to the original eyepiece.

love the rubber eyepiece but I made the mistake by not going with the recommended rubber eyepiece for the eyepiece adapter for my D300.I had to buy another piece to get this to work. the DK-19 is made for the D3,D700,and F6 cameras they have a screw eyepiece and the rubber eyepiece fits the screw piece to the cameras.I got the DX-19 to work.I should of order the DX-3

Don't know why Nikon didn't provide this with the D700. A must buy if you own the D700. Easy to install and keep lights away when you are composing the shot. Highly recommended

The Nikon DK-19 Rubber Eyecup should have been included with the Nikon D3. I have used Nikon Rubber Eyecup on all my Nikon DSLR and film SLR cameras. It simply replaces the original eye piece. The rubber eyecup is very durable makes viewing through the lense very comfortable. The eyecup works well even if you are wearing glasses.

I highly recommend the Nikon DK-19 Rubber Eyecup. It is inexpensive and easy to install.
