This item does not work well in all lighting situations. I bought it to balance color in gyms. It color corrects some, but not all.
Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 77mm Digital White Balance Solution Filter for Digital Still & Video Cameras:
It is a pain to use. I am not sure if it really is better than auto WB. I used it mostly indoors with people, but just because I bought it.

To correct digital color captured by my Canon 5D. I am accustomed to slides and not impressed with digital color. I must be a purest because I prefer real color...not imagined color.

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 77mm Digital White Balance Solution Filter for Digital Still & Video Cameras:
Under fluorescent lights, you have mixed results. Pictures came up with a strong blue cast; actually, AWB did better on my 5D MarkII. Other than that, It performed better under other ligts.

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 77mm Digital White Balance Solution Filter for Digital Still & Video Cameras:
I obtain much better color by setting my white balance using this filter. It is easy to use (although the 72mm won't stay affixed to the lense without manually holding it in place), gives outstanding results, and the color rendition is superb.

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 77mm Digital White Balance Solution Filter for Digital Still & Video Cameras:
When I switched from Nikon to Canon this last year I never thought about what would be different. I have found quite a few differences between the 2 and one was White Balance. The AWB on the Nikon D300 was GREAT! I almost never had to change it. When I went to the Canon 50D all of a sudden the AWB was always Blue! A fellow photographer recomended the Expo Disk and I have been in love ever since. It is so much easier than the gray targets and it's always right on. It get's me the most acurate color balance I've ever had. I totally recommend this product to anyone for any type of photography. It's so easy to use! I have 2 sizes that I carry with me and I just stick them around my neck and i'm ready for any light I encounter.

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 77mm Digital White Balance Solution Filter for Digital Still & Video Cameras:
For several reasons I do not want to go into RAW shooting - so most problem was often the correct white balance. To correct WB in post processing on JPEGs is not quite easy, nor always sucsessful. ExpoDisc solves that in an easy and clearly evident way. Just get the WB right the first time! I'm very pleased. Besides: the product is very well manufactured and good looking too :)

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 77mm Digital White Balance Solution Filter for Digital Still & Video Cameras:
The Expodisk brings out the true colors without having to adjust them in Photoshop. My best results have been outdoors with natural light. It is amazing the difference from the Auto White Balance setting on my Canon 20D. The only downfall so far is shooting indoor sports (hockey). I have to change the custom white balance (using the Expodisk) depending on which end of the ice the players are on. I have not figured out how to use it with a flash when I can not get on the ice to take a reading. I am sure with a little more practice, I will get that figured out too!! Worth the money for sure.

I use the Expodisk on my Nikon D200. It takes the guesswork out of setting the white balance. Very accurate. Much better white balance accuracy than my "shot-in-the-dark" approach.

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 77mm Digital White Balance Solution Filter for Digital Still & Video Cameras:
I photograph a lot of events (sports, plays, concerts) and it just isn't always possible to get a white balance card into the light being used to get a reference shot. But in all my situations so far I have been able to point my ExpoDisc towards the light source!
It has been a huge time saver in my post processing!!

Been using these since Mr Wallace, the inventor, was around. In those days, when they were less money, I had several that I used as lens caps. Today, just buy 1 big one and carry it with you everywhere.

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 77mm Digital White Balance Solution Filter for Digital Still & Video Cameras:
Works very well, I used this for a wedding after reading and watching the included DVD , I also shot quite a few practice shots to make sure I had the concept down. I took the Expo disc to the same church I was going to shoot at and took some shots there as well and was very satisfied with the results. About the only down side is the fact that as with any white balance solution you have to have time to capture a shot to use it. 4 out of 5

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 77mm Digital White Balance Solution Filter for Digital Still & Video Cameras:
The expodisc is easy to use, just snap onto filter threads and take a picture to set white balance. Well, it can be a little more involved depending on your make, but it's not hard at all.
It does a great job at getting the white ballance right, even in mixed lighting conditions. It comes with a nice case with a belt/strap loop to attach it with. The expodisc has a lanyard on it that can mostly be removed at a snap connection. The expodisc is also offered in a 'portrait' version that works the same, except that it creates a warmer look. I suggest buying the size that matches your largest lens or the largest that you plan on buying. That way you can easily use on smaller lenses by just holding the expodisc in front of your lens.

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 77mm Digital White Balance Solution Filter for Digital Still & Video Cameras:
Easy to use. I suggest getting the largest one you can and then hold it over your lens rather than screwing it on. This way you only buy one that you need and have them for most. In my case, I bought the 77mm. Have one lens which is 86mm and have to just go without for that one.

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 77mm Digital White Balance Solution Filter for Digital Still & Video Cameras:
I do a lot of landscape, architecture, and golf course photography. With the light always changing it was a hassle to take the large white disc out of its holder, unfold it and place it in the correct position in order to photograph it for a custom white balance. With the photo disc all I do is put it over the lens and point it at the light source and I have the custom white balance. Saves a lot of time and effort especially when its windy and when the light constantly changes during partly cloudy days.

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 77mm Digital White Balance Solution Filter for Digital Still & Video Cameras:
I bought the ExpoDisc after fighting with the low light levels inside a church during a wedding ceremony. It can be diffecult to capture some of those special images and remain unobtrusive. I have saved myself a lot of time correcting those images and my time saved using the disc will easily pay the price I paid for this great tool. I strongly recommend it for any lighting situation where you are restricted in how you can adapt to changing lighting and struggle with hitting the white balance perfectly. I have used this in a school gym as well as dimly lit rooms and it is has performed perfectly. I am really glad I chose the Expodisc.

The Expodisc is easy to use, it's just remembering all the things to do with the camera and the steps to go through for setting the white balance. At first glance, there has been a noticeable improvment in my images.

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 77mm Digital White Balance Solution Filter for Digital Still & Video Cameras:
Expodisc does what it is supposed to do: accurate white balance in most lighting situations. It is amazingly easy to use and convinient.
I do not like the way it is being attached to the lens. The system is very fast, but Expodisc is not firmly attached and can fall easily. It is an expensive product, but most of the price is paid for the invention.
