This was easy to use right out of the box and took only about 5 minutes to figure out. Used with my Alienbees strobes it gets great results every time. It costs a little more than some of the others but seems to be worth it so far.

Since i have not purchased high powered strobes yet- I needed a flash meter to coordinate my 2 Nikon flashes, both having different guide numbers. This unit has functioned very well and makes things much easier. When I get my strobes- I'll be all set.

This light meter makes photographying easier. The exposure is not a problem any more, so I'm very happy with my L308-S. Incident light measures makes the distance from the camera to subject irrelevent.

Great light meter that works with strobes. Must have when you venture into off-camera strobe lighting. Critical for using the Manual mode of your camera. Also useful for low light situations when you want to double check your cameras internal light meter.

Simple to use, a great 'first' light meter. Affordable and accurate. I get great results with my digital camera when using this meter and several synchronized flash heads.

Almost ideal
By Joe the TechVerified Purchaser from PA on 2/5/2007
Pros:
Accurate, Compact, Consistent, Lightweight, Strong Construction
Cons:
Calibration
Best Uses:
Lighting, Photography, Portraits
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Best bang for the buck & I love the size but....
There is no real calibration of this device which is a huge flaw as all cameras are going to meter a little different. The work around is to adust the ISO to offset the adjustment. My Rebel XTI is off by 1/3 stop so when I set the ISO on the camera at 100 I have to set the meter ISO at 125. This is just poor design but it works. The price & size are its saving grace.
