quick and easy with eclipse fluid. although pricey, it's still far less than a professional cleaning
Feel product is over rated, did not remove spots as advertised. Have ordered Delkin swabs, hope they perform better//////
hopefully the price will drop soon and please for the love of photography DO NOT clean your sensor in a parking lot, be nice to your gear clean it a home sitting down and check your work prior to go on shooting, you may need a second cleaning, it is impossible to clean your sensor at the first shot,
the product work well but not that well.
I was nervous about cleaning my sensor , i didnt want to ruin it , but after using these swabs ( i had them in the kit) they worked well in the first pass , i shot at f32 to check for dust and found it to be almost nonexistent, i never really shoot above f16 so for my purposes they worked nearly flawlessly.
They seem pricy at first but when you compare to what it costs to have your gear cleaned time and time again the cost seems a whole lot better
There was some dirt(dry dust )on the swabs right when I opened the box, , i used a rubber blower to blow it off, i used 4 swabs to clean , I spent almost $4. per swab .16.00 per cleaning is very aggressive plus the liquid. The final clenaing results is ok, but prefer to use dry tool to rid dust.
I switched to a new brand, seem better in price and quality.
The first few cleanings these swabs worked wonderfully with the Eclipse solution. As time wore on, more dust accumulated on the sensor and the swabs became less and less effective.
I don't know if it's the swabs or the solution, but upon switching brands, the frequency with which I have had to clean my sensor has decreased and it has been easier to clean with 1 swab instead of 2 or 3.
I was a little nervous about swiping anything across my camera sensor, but this was quick and easy and removed the dust very efficiently.
The initial cost seems a little high with the solution but remember you get 12 applications.
Sensor Swabs are easy to use and relatively inexpensive. I was intimidated to use them fearing that I would damage my CCD, but I've been cleaning my CCD without any harm. I highly recommend this product if you have a dirty CCD and want a cheaper alternative than sending your camera to a camera shop for cleaning.
Great for cleaning camera
It doesn't get easier than this !
I NEVER tried cleaning a sensor before, and I'm to be honest not one of those super tech geeks either.. A couple of drops of Eclipse on each side of the Sensor Swab, a wipe to the right, turn the Sensor Swab, and a wipe back to the left - that's it !
My images all came out full of specs, and this removed 99 % of them.
Do yourself a favor and take a photo of a white surface on your lowest apperature before and after, then you'll see the difference.
NEVER again a profesional camera cleaning for me - I'll do it myself (but as always with caution). Check photographicsolutions.com for guidelines.
