To be completely honest, this thing scares the daylight out of me. A sensor is an incredibly delicate thing; sticking a hard piece plastic with a very thin layer of cotton over it, in my mind, is highly dangerous. With the cost of these and not to forget the cost of solution, you would be much better off not risking it, just send it to the company to fix. They can oil everything up and solve any other problems for you while its there.
