Comments about Think Tank Think Tank Thin Skin Belt V2.0, Unpadded Large-Extra Large-XXL Size Modulus Accessory Belt, Fits 38" - 64", 96 cm - 162 cm, Black:

At first look, this belt seems like a great product. Lots of "loops" to attach equipment to, a big and tough latch, and very comfortable shape.

The problems become apparent when you move beyond the realm of Think Tank products. This belt was clearly designed to promote Think Tank's proprietary system to the exclusion of all others.

Do you have any accessory bags with a standard belt loop for attaching to your belt? TOO BAD FOR YOU! It won't fit on this belt! The buckles are huge, and sewn on permanently. There's no way to slip those cases past the buckles unless you cut off the sewn ends of the belt and remove one of the buckles entirely, slip on the case, then put the buckle back on. It's a slow and tedious process. And then the case can slide around all over the belt, there's nothing to keep it in place. Those handy slots on the belt serve no purpose unless you use Think Tank attachments.

What if you have a Lowepro case with a slip-lock attachment? At least with those, you can attach them to the belt without removing a buckle. But the same problem arises, the case will just slide around the belt without no restriction. The slots on the belt are far too loose to hold the case securely, it'll dangle and swing around. You need to attach the case around the whole belt, not just the loops.

If you have only Think Tank accessory cases within the Skin Component System, then this product is awesome. If you intend to use it with other accessory cases that you already own, stay away.
