More than one year after the Nikon D300 entered the market the armor finally also entered.
The good thing with this equipment is that it exists. Someone has given us SLR-bangers a thought and hence a possibility to maintain a better level on the camera's used price. Thank you!
The armor is tuff but a little bit loose at the bottom of the SLR. The attachment of the bottom piece is meager. On my first photo excursion the bottom piece fell off. Luckily I could trace back to it. It snaps on loosley to the left of the piece but is not fixed to the right end. A tripod addapter is included that compensates for the thickness of the armor, but it should be a plate type which would hold the bottom piece in place. If you use the Black Rapids camera strap it solves this problem.
There's no solution (yet?) to protect the D10 battery pack which must come to complete the armor.
The connection and memory compartment lids are not protected which they should be. Also the function buttons should be protected (which they are on the D200 version).
Stronger, more comfortable.
With D300, I feel like I am holding F5.
THis rubber is almost perfectly fitted with D300.
YOu can access to memory door and battery chamber easily.
The built in flash can be used, but just a little bit stuck with the hot shoe rubber.
However, somewhat problem when using with external flash, you have to remove the rubber from the hot shoe. the rubber somewhat interferes the viewfinder.
lens protection is somewhat useless for me. It will fit only my 50mm 1.4.
