Comments about Kata Kata GDC Series T-212 Torso-Pack with TST Protection, Chest Holster Style Pouch for SLR's with a Short Zoom Lens.:

There are other bags out there that only cost $50 or so that provides the same amout of storage as the Kata T-212 Torso-Pack, but they lack the protection that Kata provides. This bag is very well designed. It has a large flat pocket in the back for maps & paper items, a second large flat pocket for your media items like cords, large batteries and such, and the main compartment in front that is possible to divide with a zipper. In the second large pocket, this pocket is closed by velcro, and it has a lastic band were you slip in 2 memory CF Cards, and 4 AA batteries. The rest of your items, such as your real camera batteries, cords, pens, what not, are in a mess, but if they were not it would be hard to find what you need in a hurry. (The large flat pocket, and the main compartment are closed with a zipper.)This bag can be worn in the back, just like you wear it in front. It is a very comfortable bag to wear. It has much protection unlike other bags in the price range. It also is conectable to other Kata quipment, like there backpacks. In my Kata T-212 Torso-Pack I carry a D70 with 18-70mm lens attached, a large sigma flash, a tabletop manfrotto tripod (5inches when folded up), a tabletop manfrotto tripod extension(6 inches when folded up), a medium Velbun tripod head, much other media things. It is just what I have been looking for.NOTE:(1))I can see that it would be possible to connect a small tripod (10-15 inches when folded) to this bag, but my large Manfrotto (30 inches when folded) would be over kill, and would most likely hurt to cary that way[...]

I use this camera bag to store and transport my Nikon D50. I have it rigged to carry on my back, but will swing around to the front for easy access to the camera. I use the extra straps for carrying my tripod below. My biggest complaint about the bag is occasionally when I am taking the camera out or putting it away, the on/off switch is flipped. I don't carry an extra lens now, but am soon thinking about adding one to my collection. There is room for an extra lens if you're willing to carry less accessories. The small pockets are useful and well placed, with the exception of the Velcro pocket. Overall, I am very happy with this bag. It doesn't carry a lot of gear, but it is sturdy and well designed.
