Pros:

Cannot accommodate hood, Doesn't Cushion Camera Well, No battery compartment, No belt fastener, No sd card compartment

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
It does make carrying the camera with the viewfinder quite convenient once I purchased a belt clip to go on the brass loop that's on the case.
It's almost the size of the camera itself which makes it a very tidy package.
There could be one or two more small pockets to accommodate a spare battery and sd card.
It could also have it's own belt loop instead of the stupid brass ring that's on it. I can't figure out what Ricoh expects one to attach the case to.
