I purchased this product to carry my Nikon D200 and D300. The D200 has a Sigma 10-20mm lens and the D300 has a 70-300 mm lens attached. I also carry tow other lenses, a SB600 flash, a MC-36 remote, and a Pentax Zone VI light meter as well as a battery charger in the back pack. I carry extra batteries, flash cards, all electrical components and chargers as needed. I also have a 15" laptop. The only dis advantage is that it will carry so much stuff it can get heavy. I used it on a recent trip to the Keys and it is a great carry on. There was a place for a tripod, but I packed that in my luggage and checked it through. Tough, strong, well built. great for what I needed.

I'd been looking for an All-weather backpack that could carry my gear and a Sony Vaio laptop. I ordered and received it just before leaving for a vacation to Kauai, HI and this backpack was a perfect fit (but just barely for the laptop you still have to wiggle it from side to side to get the zipper closed). I also own a Tamrac 787 but it is more of an "expedition" photo backpack and is too bulky and heavy when fully loaded.

Overall I am very pleased with the cost and performance.

While this is an "all-weather" product I still carry my ultimate "all-weather" accessory, a 50 cent heavy duty trash bag that has saved my thousands of dollars of gear from ruin on more than one occasion.

It's great for travel but heavy when loaded with camera lenses computer cables charger and what ever else you can stuff in to it it will hold a lot. When adjusted properly and snug feels good. Lumbar strap is excelent makes it feel lighter. Still gets heavy after a while. Keeps gear protected good for air travel keeps hands free to handle kids.

The answer to airplane carry-on woes
By JoeVerified Purchaser from Bel Air, MD on 2/6/2007
Pros:
Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Strong Construction
Best Uses:
Transporting Gear
Bottom Line:

I like this bag for carrying my camera and computer aboard airplanes. However, I switch to the Adorama slinger bag when at my destination and taking pictures. The bag is way too much to carry around when I don't need the computer and spare photo equipment

This backpack is perfect as a carry-on when traveling. There is ample room for a SLR, lenses, point & shoot, and accessories. Not to mention a good sized laptop compartment and enough pockets to hold misc. items and laptop accessories. It even has a tripod strap.
