I also purchased this over the Slingshot, which is $30 more. I am a whopping 5'2" and on the smaller side, so this bag was perfect for my small frame that cant carry 50 lbs worth of gear around all day. That said, I do have slightly broad shoulders for someone of my height, and I find this bag to be very comfortable. I swapped everything out of my Crumpler 6 Million Dollar Home into this bag, since the weight of the messenger bag style was hurting my shoulder. Not a problem at all with this bag. Even with gear not evenly distributed in the bag, the bag is very lightweight and comfortable, even when it is full. I can put my Nikon D300 with 24-85mm f/2.8, Nikon 105mm macro lens (huge), lens caps, hoods, cards, batteries, charger, cable release, manual, etc in here and Is till have room left over. However, I do not have room for all of that and a flash should I decide to procure one in the future.
Bought this bag and returned it. I have narrow shoulders and the backpack didn't fit comfortably across them. In order to secure it, I had to strap both the waist belt and the chest belt - probably not an issue for men, but not very comfortable for women! A nice bag, but not as comfortable as I had hoped. Those with broader shoulders would probably like this bag much more than I did.

I was debating over this or the slingshot 200 and wound up getting this one. I am very happy with my decision. Can easily store large lens attached to nikon d80, plus 4 small to medium lenses plus flash unit. Doenst come with waterproof jacket but the tripod strap was worth the exchange. Just make sure to carry a trashbag in case you get caught in the rain. Gear is not as easily accessible as the slingshot but I dont think that is going to be a downfall for me, youll have to decide for yourself.
