Great camera bag(backpack). Very sturdy and protect my camera really well as well as easy to flip to the front to get camera ready. Smart design!
Use for travel in US and overseas. It fits all my photo equipment just right (Canon Digital Rebel XT, 70-300mm IS lens, 580EX flash, gorillapod, large battery pack, and other extras) but when fully loaded can be a drag on your shoulder.
I unload equipment not needed for a day trip and get by just fine. Easy access to the camera for quick shots!
This is a lot better than a camera bag hanging on your shoulder all day. There is enough room to carry all the equipment I would use on a day long outing.
I have three other Lowepro bags and its either too small or too big...the Slingshot 200 is just about right...and access on the run is perfect!
When we do Senior Pictures we go to a lot of places that you have to do some hiking. This Lowe-pro is perfect. Highly Recommended.
After carrying standard shoulder bags for 30 years, I thought it was time for a change. This style offers the following advantages, particularly for "off-road" nature photography. 1- it won't slip off your shoulder. 2- when hiking trails, you have two hands free for use of poles or hiking stick. 3- it is easy and fast to get into. 4. It carries just the right amount of stuff. Only drawback is no built in straps for a tripod, though a gorillapod fits in the top accessory pouch!
The slingshot 200 is great for hiking it's small enough to pack, but big enough for all your gear and if you get a little rain pull out the all weather cover to protect your gear.
This bag is great for carrying all my lenses. Before getting this bag I had to carry several bags for my camera and all my lenses and gear. Which discouraged me from even bothering with it. Perfect for taking snow boarding to get some great shots up on the hills. Before I had this bag, it would have been difficult to impossible to take my gear out while sporting and take pictures. I would recommend this bag to anyone who would like to take their equipment with them to get the great shots while out hiking biking skiing or boarding. Before I would be out and see some amazing things and wish I could have brought my camera for some great pictures. This bag makes it easy to access the camera fast. As well as being able to have my other equipment there if I need it. [...]

This is a small portable bag; just what I was looking for. It's comfortable gives you quick access to your camera in a flash and it looks very toughly built. Only down side I've found so far is the top handle is very small and hard on your hand. The bag is small so it stays out of your way when walking, while carrying easily my camera and three or four lenses.

After owning several different types of bags. This is an amazing bag. I'm able to take my D300 along with just about every lens that I want or need including my 70-200 VR lens. The bag is also very confortable.
I tried several bags before this one and this is by far the easiest to use. I am able to fit everything I need in it and carry it easily - Nikon D80 with 18-200VR, SB800 flash, 50 mm lens, cleaning kit, recharger, spare battery, memory cards, card reader, instruction manuals and room for another lens or two. The dividers are easily reconfigured to meet your needs. Lots of pockets for small accessories. The rain cover works great and tucks away invisibly when not in use. The stabilizing strap also can tuck away into the pocket at its base when not in use. It does get heavy on one shoulder if you're carrying it all day. My one complaint is that as a woman I find the one strap across the chest look to be less than flattering. I often carry it with the strap over one shoulder rather than across my chest if I'm not trekking long distances. I do really like this bag though and I use it all the time.

After buying and trying several different bags, this is the best I have found. I have a Canon Mark III with 100-400mm L telephoto lens and 28-135mm Canon lens and 580ex flash. There aren't any other bags that can carry the Mark III and big telephoto lens attached except backpacks. I looked at the 300AW but that bag is huge. For me backpacks are too big, bulky, and impossible to get your gear without removing from your back. But the Slingshot 200AW with the above gear is very heavy. I had to move the dividers to unconventional positions the get that big Mark III and 100-400 lens in the bag, but it works. It is very easy to unhook the stability strap and sling the bag around to your front for access to camera. The top accessory pocket is not as easy to get into when bag is slung around to your front. You have to be careful not to unzip too far or gear may fall out. The only improvement that Lowepro should make is a better carry handle at top for when you want to carry the bag by hand.
I took this bag to Alaska recently and it served me well. This bag travels well on airplanes, buses, cruise ships, tour boats, overhead bins and under seat storage. I would highly recommend this bag to others.

The access panel protects the back of the camera body. There should be a bit more padding on it. Access to the camera is quick. Access to the lenses is a bit slower, but unless you are constantly changing lenses the design helps prevent lenses and accessories from faling out.

Best bag I ever had. I took it on vacation and this bag(200AW),held every thing I put in it. A SLR Camera with extra Lens, two (2) compack cameras, a Camcorder, My iPod,Cell phone and along with extra batteries and flash cards. With all that in it I found everything fast and I didn't have to search for it!

Its quick and easy to access your camera but don't even think about using it for a day hike. Its only good for a really short trip or use in urban area. If you want something for hiking, get a regular backpack type bag, putting all the weight on one shoulder isn't that great

Very Nice bag, I currently have 4 lenses 8 filters and adapters, cleaning supplies and extra memory and batteries for my Nikon D80 in mine. Excellent bag for trips.

My new favorite bag, planning on using for a trip to Europe. I tried out the 300 AW but definitely felt that, once loaded with all the gear it could actually hold, it would get very uncomfortable on your one shoulder. I also tried out the Lowepro CompuDaypack, but getting to the camera equipment in that puppy is about as awkward as you can possibly get. This one's perfect for me. I've already got a bigger backpack that holds everything, but am not ready to lug that around Europe. This is much more doable. I've been testing it, and fully loaded it gets just a bit tiring after a while, but you can easily carry it on the other shoulder at times for a break (though not as handy to get to.) But used as normal, this is VERY handy. I carry a Nikon D80 with 18-200VR and lens shield attached. In the smaller upper zippered compartment I carry a D70 with an original lensbaby or 50mm attached. I can swing the pack around and get to 2 cameras without setting anything down. The storage still has room for a wide angle lens, sb-600 flash, another lens, and more. The attachment system allows me to also attach a large water bottle to the outside (if you buy the extra holder)- you could load up the outside with 3 more attachments/lens cases/etc. if you needed to. I also like the "skinny" feel of it- it hangs off your back nicely, without feeling as bulky as a standard backpack. Overall I love this bag for travel purposes/day trips/hikes.
I really like the fact that you can carry your camera in the pack and take it out when you want to actually take pictures. Easy to get at the camera and the single shoulder design with stabilizing strap works great!
Plenty of space inside for the casual user. I have a Canon EOS w/ hobbyist telephoto lens and it fits inside with the lens mounted. Do make sure you test the bag out with your equipment or verify the dimensions because it might be tight for larger lenses. Some extra storage space for whatever you need to bring along..
Some gripes: I wish the stabilizing strap had a place to stow it when you're not using it. I wish the bag had a way to lock it to protect from theft.

Delivers the quality you would expect from Lowepro. This compact sling can hold my 125-300mm zoom lens attached to the camera body as well as two other small lens. The sling feature really works, providing quick access to your equipment. Nice for wildlife shots where you need quick access and minimum movement to prevent spooking critters. For outings where you need minimal equipment, this sling is great.

I think this is a great bag. It is not to large, but fits everything.

This is an excellent quality and well made sling bag and can hold a lot of your photo gears. Quite easy to get to your camera once it is on your back but putting it on and off take some getting use to esp. if you wear glasses (I knocked off my glasses a few times when taking it off my shoulder).
I don't feel too comfortable with only one shoulder strip esp. when you have loaded up with gears. I only bought it a week and maybe I need more time to get use to it.
Overall, I will recommend it to everyone. It is well made and good quality.

Easy access to the camera is the plus here. It would be nice to have a reel system (or storage)to prevent the strap from dangling when not in use since the bag carries well without it buckled. Also, it dangles when you access the camera. It hasn't been a problem so far, but I could imagine it getting inconveniently caught. The one big complaint, the fast access compartment will hold only the camera with attached lens. A second lens won't fit and has to be carried in a compartment that requires the bag to be removed for access. I use a Sony Alpha with Sony lenses. This particular bag would work better with a smaller camera so consider the larger size if you use a camera similar to the Alpha. The sling is a great concept, quite functional.

Overall a good day shoot bagfor folks that don't plan on getting to remote locations. Great for urban shooting which I do occasionally. Forget trying to carry a tripod. I have an ultralight carbon fiber rig and I have to slash it onto the lowepro using bungie cords. For non-tripod shots (street, tourist, candid stuff) it's a great bag.
Warning, wearing it all day will wear on one shoulder. I carried 1 camera body 3 good glass lenses and went on a day hike (with tripod slashed to it) and really felt it in the morning.
P.S. Am considering new bag for outdoor trekking with tripod, but will keep slingshot 200 for urban stuff.

Before I bought the Lowepro SlingShot 200 AW, I had been searching for the perfect camera bag. The "perfect camera bag" does not exist, but the SlingShot comes the closest I have ever seen. I heard that Lowepro is making a larger version. Mine holds my Nikon DSLR, 18-70 and 70-300 lens, SB-800 flash, accessories and extra battery, Canon Digital Elph, manuals with room to spare. I could carry at least another DSLR body or lens as well. Sweet bag.
I like its size and weight.
had to add loops to attach a large telephoto lens
as needed in the field.
Comfortably carry and easily access one full size camera and associated lenses and gear. I can easily swing the pack around to the front and grab my camera. It works as advertised.

I bought this bag about a month ago, and I love it. It is so easy to access all of my equipment, and it holds a lot for being such a small bag. I have my Canon 20D with 24-70mm lens attached stored in the main pocket. Then there is room for my canon 100-400mm lens, teleconverter, two battery chargers, cards, batteries, Ipod, cell phone, and card reader. It has enough room for me to add the Canon 100mm Macro lens and a 580EX flash as well when I get them. It rides well although not the most comfortable because all the weight is on one strap. It's great bag for hiking though, and the waterproof cover is awesome for rainy weather.
Perfect for my Canon EOS 20D

My only complaint is that I try to carry more than this bag is designed to carry. I think I'm going to buy the 300 for those times I need more of my "stuff", and use the 200 for the lighter shoots.

I purchased this pack to carry camera gear on our trip to Disney World. It was all that I had expected- easy access and great protection for my camera gear. I was able to carry lots of stuff and get it out quickly when needed. I would purchase this again and would recommend it to anyone. Just the right size and very well constructed. My camera and the pack survived Disney and all the rides I could stand!

It is great for carrying equipment. It turned out to be to small for my camera with a 70-200 2.8. Therefore I bought the 300 because it is larger. The lower harness on the 200 should be changed like the one on the new 300. I would recommend both the 200 and in particular the 300.
There are few times when you have the camera in the bag and you're really after a quick sling and shoot; the process is just too slow. You either have the camera and appropriate lense out or you don't! Better for storage. More functional for a trip than the 100 size which is a short day bag.
I love the SlingShot 200 AW. It's been real handy for when I am just walking around and need to access my equipment fast. Just swing it around unzip, grab, and shoot. As long as you have the lens you want to shoot with on it you don't have to worry to much about getting to the extra lens, but if you need to change lens or it can be a little cumbersome.

There is no such thing as a perfect photo bag, but after five months using this, I am glad I bought it. It holds everything I need for a day long shoot and I can strap a tripod to it if I need too. However, that makes it easy to pack a heavy load if you are not careful. If you cut down on the gear, there is room for a few luxaries like candy bars, a small towel and a hanging water bottle. It is narrow, so it does not snag in woody terrain, a definate advantage over a tradional back pack. The accessory strap keeps it from bouncing, but it does make the back sweat. Access to equipment is good, even one handed. I would have liked the outside pocket to be larger, but that is nit-picking. I like that it does not look like a photobag so it is not quite so tempting to a would be thief. The shoulder strap is comforatble but it would be nice to be able to change the strap from one side to the other to give that right shoulder a rest on a long day. YOu can always switch shoulders and hang it in front of you which works. All things considered it is worth the money.

Bought this bag as I was going to do a lot of walking on vacation and didn't want to miss "the shot". Very comfortable and the ability to just swing the bag around and grab your camera is awesome. The waterproof cover is great, just in case! The only problem is the width of the bag with any "bigger" telephoto lenses. My 75-300mm just fits. But I am able to put lenses (3), my battery charger, digital SLR and filters in the case. I would recommend this for anyone who needs easy access to their camera and doing a lot of walking.
Great product. I've been looking for a small bag that protects my equipment well. This is the best product I have ever seen. I've recommended it to several friends.
This bag is awesome. I take it everywhere with me, and despite having to carry textbooks and a laptop in my backpack, this guy still fits over my shoulder fine and is there when I need it... even if I do look a bit lopsided.
It took me 6 months to find the all-weather cover. I had given up, assuming it had been left out of my order somehow, but I got curious one day and prodded LowePro's site. I eventually found the cover in a slightly hidden velcro-sealed pouch where the bottom of the bag meets the small of your back. You just undo the velcro, pull the cover up out and over the top of the bag, and velcro the top of it around the main strap.

Great for carrying equipment, easy to access camera/lens, a little difficult to access additional equipment. Short on space in the bag for filters, cleaning access, etc. However, there are several external straps that let you add accessory cases. I'm impressed with the construction as I am generally with LowePro. I have one LowePro bag that I've used, and still use, for 25 years. Try before you buy to see if it fits your shooting style.
Have not use it much but, the times that i have has been confortable to carry and camera access is very easy.

A lot of space, comfortable and easy to use, compact and smart construction with flexibility left for the user to adjust the departments and to customise to his/her needs.

This bag has worked well for me over the last year or so, but the top of the shoulder strap fell apart early on. Added stiching to the strap would be helpful, or you could brace it with your favorite patch.
The "sling" styling makes it easy to get the camera out quickly though, which is nice.
I found this prodcut easy to use and well laid out in it's design. The quality construction should provide many years of service

Overall, I give this bag a four out of five. It's not my every day bag. But, it's great on the trail or walking around. I did have to completely re-arrange the interior compartments. As it's laid out from the maker, opening the cover could cause some lenses to fall out on the ground!
I'd also like it to be a hair bigger. However, if you plan ahead, and are prepared to have to leave some less-used equipment at home, it's a pretty good arrangement.

big problem with shoulder strap, after one month of use the stichings gave up!

Well, of course this isn't my only bag. I have a "big" bag that holds all my stuff = my laptop, body, lenses, flash, extra batteries, etc. That bag carries all of my gear to the hotel room. Then, I put the necessary gear in this bag and take it for the day. Body, lenses, flash, straps, extra batteries, cell phone, all fit into this bag. I LOVE the sling. Leave the camera in, walk around town, if you see a shot, sling this around and whip out the camera and get the shot. Put it back, and keep moving. It's great when you are traveling.
