I use the bag when I go bike riding. My EF 400mm f/5.6L lens fits perfect. I also carry the XSi camera with the kit lens, 50mm 1.8, EF 75-300mm lens and a flash.

I needed a bag that would let me have my stuff with me while I helped our HS Marching band set up their equipment on the field for competitions and then have quick access to the camera while they performed. This bag holds my camera with 70-200 f2.8 attached, another smaller zoom and flash along with the usual spare batteries, memory cards, etc. with ease. A quick slide to the front and out comes the camera.
It DOES get to be hard on the one shoulder if you have to wear it a long time with a bunch in it, but I can't think of any other way to give me freedom to do stuff and such quick access. Fastening the waist strap helps a lot at taking some of the weight off, though.
Highly recommend for the purpose it was designed for.

Th lenes are heavy to carry but this bag can carry the weight like a backpack but quickly spin to the front for access.

I bought the Velocity 9X to have a "casual" looking bag that was easy to access the equipment and could hold lots of gear. I wanted a sling like sack to make it easy to slide around the gear and access it quickly. It did that, but the 9X was cumbersome and uncomfortable when loaded with equipment.
1. The bag held a 40D with 70-200, 17-40, 60 macro, flash, table tripod, memory cards and batteries plus some other accessories. So, it held what I needed. I normally have all of this on a hip belt when walking about shooting.
2. The padding on the shoulder strap is minimal. The way the strap is designed, the padding did not really sit much on my shoulder. Wearing it for a long period of time is very taxing on the neck.
3. On most Tamrac bags there is a zipper on each side so that the top can be open left to right or right to left. The was only one zipper which went right to left, behind the bag. Would have been easier to operate with the standard two zipper support. This would also allow the bag to be "locked".
4. Was not really wearable on the left side due to the strap issues. Now there was no padding at all due to how it would hang on that side.
Any bag this size would hold everything, so it comes down to comfort and ease of use. I am going to look for another alternative for longer periods of use.
