FANTSTIC CASE FOR ONE AND ALL
By Paul from Boston on 6/13/2008
Pros:
Comfortable Strap, Good Protection, Lightweight, Lots Of Pockets And Features
Best Uses:
Daily Transport
Describe Yourself:
Hobbyist/Enthusiast

This case is perfect for the advanced enthusiast or anyone who has a fair amount of equiptment. The case boasts a roomy interior with sufficient (customizable) partitions to hold 2 DSLR's with Medium telephoto's attached, along with a flash and several lenses. There are pockets galore both inside and outside for every conceivable accessory you can imagine. One of my favorite things about this bag is that each and every interior wall (even in zippered external pouches) is padded. It's a solid, well built/designed bag and ADORAMA'S price/service is second to none.

Do yourself a favor and get it.

While I am a fan of Lowe Pro gear, I found this to be an excellent alternative for packing my camera (with lens attached) and two more lenses and a flash. Also held extra cards, batteries, filters, and misc extra stuff. The padding is more than adequate and the bright yellow insides make finding stuff a snap. The velcro inside hold very well too for customizing the inside of the bag.

As a primary case for transporting my camera for shooting. I like the way it looks, purchased the large case and was surprised to see how large it was. This case will accommodate my needs of space in the future.

I was initially reluctant to buy a padded case over the Internet that I had never seen before, but I opted to take a gamble on the large ApeCase after seeing the reviews. Boy, did I win with this one.

The case is not really all that large, but it does hold a lot of gear. It is well made and designed by someone who put the user first. The yellow interior is a nice feature for locating gear quickly. The stitching is competent and the padding is adequate. The non-slip feet are great when placing the case on a vehicle surface. The tripod straps are pointless, since they are too small and light for a a tripod of substance, but it is a minor point.

Overall, while it isn't a Zero-Halliburton or Pelican case, it is a great case for travel when it doesn't involve baggage handlers or where it will not be out of your sight. It has no locking ability.

Glad I bought it

Pros:
Comfortable Strap, Good Protection, Lots Of Pockets And Features, Weatherproof
Best Uses:
Professional Use, Travel, Wedding event photograp
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I shot a wedding last week & packed 1 canon D60 body, 20D with 28-105 zoom lens, 2nd canon 20D with 28-200 zoom lens, 2 580 EX flashes, shoe cords, batteries, cf cards in cases... etc., and was still able to fit my stroboframe flip bracket all in the case. The only piece of equipment that wouldn't fit was my tripod! This case is a little bulkier than what I'm used to, but I'd rather have this slightly larger case than 2 smaller ones.

My "Ape Case Pro 1400" has just arrived and I am so excited and very pleased with it!The case is roomy enough to store all of my photographic equipments i.e. EOS 30D, TAMRON AF17-50mm F2.8, TAMRON AF 55-200mm F4-5.6, two TAMRON lenses' hoods, a battery charger, an extra battery and lens filters. And the very unique feature of the case is its BRIGHT YELLOW INTERIOR that makes it really easy to find what is inside of it.I would highly recommend "Ape Case Pro 1400" to anyone who is after a sturdy camera case at a reasonable price.[...]

Ape case turns gorilla

Pros:
Comfortable Strap, Good Protection, Lightweight, Lots Of Pockets And Features, Weatherproof
Best Uses:
Daily Transport, Professional Use, Travel
Describe Yourself:
Professional
Bottom Line:

Great as a carry-on on air-lines-sometimes under seat or in overhead bin.
Occassionally I over pack it with two pro cameras, two flashes, four lenses,
plus battery charger, flash cards, readers, filters, etc. and don't forget a
couple of sandwiches on those long flights where they don't feed you.
Could use a little more padding on the back-side but other-wise this
case is great protection without the weight that most other cases have.
I like the zipper plus locking side straps plus the tripod straps on the
bottom of the case. Usually I carry two cases and have had no problems.

I have not seen this bag at any stores here in the San Francisco Bay area. Not even Calumet. It is a great little secret that shouldn't be for anyone looking for a compact sized bag configured in a practical way to get more from less.
