I too thought this was 'The bag' for wedding photogs.
Turns out it is very over priced for what it is and not functional as the claims and hype from the 'who's who' in the wedding industry suggest. I can afford what I want and in many cases you do get what you pay for, but not for this...
For those looking for an alternative search adorama site for Tamrac 3535, 5534 or 5533 etc. These are much more functional, look good (in black) and are much less expensive if cost is a factor. I also have used a couple Crumpler bags, but like another reviewer mentioned, they are hard to get in and out of.
This bag represents a great concept, but poorly executed. There are several minor things that could be done to really make this bag a true success:
1 - the strap is unpadded.
2 - the pockets are too tight. You can't easily get a 2.8 in and out without two hands. The photo showing the lens shade being included is a downright lie - no way could you include lens shades with a lens in this bag.
3 - the strap does not detach, should you want to use a different (ie, an aftermarket comfortable) one.
4 - they could easily "open up" the center divider such that it forms a long internal undivided pocket, perfect for storing some paperwork.
5 - after only one week (constant) use, the stitching is showing unreasonable wear. I'm sure this bag will be needing repair before too long.
This is way too long a list for the price of this bag.
I was hoping for something lightweight that would holster my lenses and flash while shooting events and weddings. Unfortunately, L series lenses are hard to get in and out quickly due to the elasticity of the neoprene vs. the size of the lens. A waist strap would probably hold the bag firm and allow one-handed operation. It was overpriced also. I tried it for 3-4 events and it never got any better.
Lowpro, crumpler, tamrac, etc... I have tried them all. Don't get me wrong. They are all well padded camera bags that are great for transporting your equipment safely, but are extremely bothersome, noisy and bulky to actually shoot with. The shootsac bag is a lens bag that makes it easy, fast and secure for me to change lenses while I am shooting, so I never miss the shot. I still take my camera backpack with me for transport, but I end up setting it down, and have my shootsac on me at all times while shooting. It also doesn't hurt that it actually looks really cool and not ugly like most camera bags. I have had mine for several months and highly recommend it to anyone who shoots with more than one lens.
I love my bag, it's got very durable material and I love the 6 pockets. I wish it had a center big pocket but other than that it's professional looking and I get lots of compliments on it and I love it.
I would recommend this bag, it's so cool and the pockets allow me to store my lenses. I wish it had a center pocket in the middle but other than that, this is a very cool and professional bag. I always get compliments on it.
I have ALWAYS wanted a good bag for shooting on the go, something that would hold my lenses and accessories, was easy to get into and didn't scream "steal me!"
I went through a number of bags from Crumpler (not easy to get into) to Domke (not attractive with a suit at a wedding) to Tamrac (GREAT as a travel camera bag but overkill for walking the street and always too conspicuous). This bag does what I needed it to do.
It's comfortable, ultra light, and looks great (choose the cover that matches). It holds just the right number of lenses for all of my situations in shooting, and it has held up for the past 4 months of good use without any problems.
I would recommend this bag to anyone who wants a working lens bag. It's NOT a replacement for your camera bag, though... this is literally a bag for your lenses and accessories to use while you're shooting. My camera stays slung around my neck on a strap, ready to shoot. I have a backpack camera bag by Tamrac that I tote things around in, the Shootsac actually fits inside of it... and when I'm at my destination I choose what I'm going to carry and put it in and go!

I thought this would be the answer to my prayers, but it wasn't. In fact, it contributed to my gear being damaged due to the strap separating from the bag. I only owned it for a couple of weeks before this happened, and I was by no means hard on it. The bag just fell off of my shoulder, and my lenses hit the ground hard. I'd heard of this happening to other people, but I still thought I'd give it a try since so many people have one. And, I'd even heard about the buckle snapping for no reason. But I still gave it a try - I really wish I hadn't. You can't say you weren't warned if you still buy this bag and it falls apart on you.
