My old leather bag of a similar design finally just could not make any more trips. After considerable time spent reviewing the available options, I ordered this bag. I have only had it for a year so far but it has been half way around the world several times and in and out of military helicopters in the harsh deserts of Iraq and it still looks the same as it did when it arrived. If you are after stylish and pretty, do not choose this bag. However if you can live with plain and extremely functional, this one may be for you. As far a durability I will let you know in a few more years of world travel.

Think Tank makes really great gear.
this bag is well thought out with lots of storage.
its a bit heavier than id like but if it was less it probably wouldnt support the gear as it does.

Lots of room and pockets for my equipment. In the main compartment I'm able to carry my Nikon D300 with 17-55 zoom, 70-200 zoom, 12-24 zoom, and a 35mm prime. The front side pocket can also carry an extra camera body.
The shoulder pad is a bit big and stiff and tend to slide off my shoulder.

After much investigation, I purchased this bag as a birthday gift to myself a few months ago. It is the best bag I have encountered in almoust 25 years.(at least for my needs) I have wanted a bag that was not obtrusive but could carry the camera equipment I like to have with me just in case, as well as the 17" computer I work with everyday. It is great. It does not look like a camera bag but it currently carries a Canon 40D, Canon lens, 70-200 2.8, and a 10-22. Additionally I carry a large Canon flash as well as assorted cables, a 500GB external memory, card reader and my collapsible umbrella.
With all the camera gear and the computer it is a bit heavy, but quite managable. (I may pay for it when I am older, but it is okay for now). So far I do not have any complaints, and for someone like me that is a high endorsment. Thanks Think Tank for the first bag that meets my requirements ever.

Perfect for the shy photographer! I've had this bag for nearly a year, and can't say enough good about it. The bag constantly has a 17" Dell laptop in the laptop compartment, associated cables and mouse, and my Nikon D-40, two lenses, and a hand-held field computer. Room left over for flash, and lots of hidden compartments that are easy to access.
The computer compartment is solid and sufficiently-sized for the large laptop, though a little less well-padded than i'm used to; i am more careful with the computer in this bag than i've had to be in the past with other laptop bags. On the other hand, the camera compartment is bomb-proof and large enough to hold my D-40 with silicon CameraArmor inside a padded camera case and keep it all at my fingertips. The padded camera case slips in and out easily, so i can ditch the big bag for more mobility. The bag is solid, no floppy seams to catch in car doors or on doorknobs. The shoulder strap is the best i've ever seen, super solid contoured padding with non-slip shoulder pad; strong swivel hardware; good adjustability for tall and short folks (i'm 6'3" and usually have a problem with that.) These bags usually start to sag and lose their form after a year for me; this one looks and feels brand-new after 10 months of hard use. I wish it would wear a little more, because it's less obtrusive to have old-looking gear!
Nobody realizes it's a camera bag until i haul the equipment out of it; great for gentle entries into sensitive situations. There are folks who have seen me and the bag every day for the last year and still don't realize it's got camera equipment in it. Camera is happy, friends and co-workers are clueless, and i'm ecstatic.
