This case is very inconvenient to lug around, but extremely convenient for transporting the gear - as long as you odn't have to shlepp the case by its shoulder-strap for any considerable distance. Very protective, nice. I use it to carry my gear by a car, occasionally on airlines.
For prolonged hand-carry though I use softer lighter cloth-made carrying case.
