Aluminum covers fell off right out of the box- nothing a bit of JB Weld couldn't fix. Can be a little tricky opening one handed, but won't go flying open on it's own either.
Very tough- overkill if anything. Plastic would have been plenty strong, but didn't like the available 8 card holder colors, and the pelican case version is too big. Aluminum finish is really nice too.
Not that I see myself needing more than 4 cards anytime soon, I use the left side for empty cards, and the right for spent one to avoid mistakes when a quick change is needed.

This is a good product. The only negatives is the case is hard to open and the media fits so tight it is a little hard to remove. I will buy another one when I need one.

Case holds cards well. The tape that holds the metal skin on sucks, so plan on getting some good double stick tape. Other than that, a good unit.

The exterior construction of this case leaves something to be desired. The case is actually molded plastic; the aluminum is just two thin facade pieces that slip over the exterior plastic. The pieces are secured to the plastic with strips of double-sided tape. When my case arrived, the tape had lost its grip and the aluminum facade pieces were falling off. I used superglue to reattach them securely. This is a purely aesthetic complaint and one that can be fixed easily with some glue or stronger tape. The case itself seems built to resist damage and should keep your SD cards safe.

Nice solid storage solution for SD cards. The outer shell is aluminum with a solid latch. The inside holds the cards securely but not to the point where they are hard to get out in a hurry when you need them. On a recent trip to Mexico I packed a couple of these loaded with cards. Dropped one a few times and other than some scuffs, no damage to the cards. The only con and it's a minor one is that it's a bit thicker than some other cases but you get more protection for the little bit of extra bulk.

It's a shame they don't post a picture of this item, because they'd likely sell more. The brushed aluminum is not the shiny silver I'd expected, but instead a dark grey. It's even better looking that I was expecting. I'm going to buy the Compact Flash version now that I know what to expect.
