Comments about Op/Tech Op/Tech Pro Strap, 3/8", for Digital SLR Cameras and Binoculars, Black:

I usually take the padded section off and clip the ends together because that takes less room in the bag and I can use the strap to stabilze and secure the camera. I carry two cameras and so I only pack one padded section in the case at the most(the other in my suitcase)
The stap says on my shoulder well, is comfortable and does not twist like my Nikon strap did.
If there is a con, it is that the strap with padded section is larger than the one that came with the camera and does take more bag space.

I bought this for my Nikon D60. It is a comfortable strap that is a big improvement over the stock Nikon strap. My only complaint is that the attachment straps are too narrow for the lugs on the camera. It hasn't been a problem so far, but we'll see.

I'm sorry I didn't buy this strap sooner. It is so much more comfortable than the Canon strap. I put it on the 40D with the 100-400L lens and it feels lighter. Now I wish I had bought another one for my other camera.

Comments about Op/Tech Op/Tech Pro Strap, 3/8", for Digital SLR Cameras and Binoculars, Black:

Got this to replace the Nikon strap. I am an over the shoulder carrier and wanted a longer comfy strap that would make the camera carry easily. This strap was is really comfortable over the shoulder and makes the camera really lightweight to carry. Being able to clip off the strap to convert it quickly to a shorter carry strap is a super feature as well. Only two minor niggles -- would be nice if the clips that held the loose ends held tighter but a bit of tape will solve that. Also, strap is thinner than the Nikon so tends to twist more when the camera is stored. But, I wouldn't let either of these complaints stop me from buying it again. Recommended to a friend and she loves it too.

Comments about Op/Tech Op/Tech Pro Strap, 3/8", for Digital SLR Cameras and Binoculars, Black:

For the money, this is good strap. It's much more comfortable than the one that came with my Nikon D300, and it doesn't advertise the camera like the Nikon strap--an invitation to thieves. I only have one complaint, and it's a small one: the attachment straps on the Nikon strap are 1/2", not 3/8." The little extra strength of the wider strap would add to my peace of mind, though the 3/8" is probably adequate.

I have a Nikon D80 that I primarily use a 18-200mm lens on. The factory strap that comes with the camera will work that is about all you can say. THIS STRAP IS GREAT! It makes the camera seem much lighter, it is padded extremely well and is very adjustable. It disconnects quickly so if you are on a tripod you can detach it. I was a bit worried about the disconnects when ordering, now after recieving it they are very well made.

I have the Slik 700 and it has a reputation for being somewhat heavy but this strap negates the heavy problem in carrying. It reduces the possible negatives of a large tripod and let's you carry it without any fuss. I am sure that it has many other alternative uses because of its flexible design, but I will have to see how they evidence themselves.

This is certainly better than the strap Nikon provides with the D300. It is more comfortable. It has quick-disconnects to remove it from the camera which is handy when using the tripod. And it doesn't say "steal me" like the Nikon strap does. I found it chafes a little when wearing a collarless shirt, though not too badly.

An area for improvement would be the clips that take up the extra strap. I don't want to cut the straps overall length, so I use the small clips to secure the excess. They don't secure them very well, causing them to stick out or fall out.

Very comfortable and seems to be very well built. Much better than the scratchy Nikon strap. Not sure why Nikon does not spend a few $$$ to ensure that the stock camera strap is the same high quality as the camera; I would gladly pay $20.00 more for camera in order to get a decent stock strap.

The width of the strap, and the soft, shock absorbing neoprene material makes this a very nice strap for a heavier camera. I use them on a F100 w/MB15 and a Kowa Six (HEAVY!) and they stay very comfortable with this product.

The original strap kept pulling apart. The original strap was a giant sign saying "steal me". When the Op/Tech strap arrived, I attached it to the camera and threw the original strap in the trash. The Op/Tech strap is well made, very comfortable and works perfectly. Too bad Nikon doesn't ship the Op/Tech strap with the camera.

Comments about Op/Tech Op/Tech Pro Strap, 3/8", for Digital SLR Cameras and Binoculars, Black:

I like this strap! It's not a 'solid' one but it is strong and comfortable and can be adjusted quite long if need be.
I bought it as an addition to my Pentax strap which I will still use when I need reliability such as out on the water but the Op/Tech Pro Strap is nice for those leisurely walks when you don't need to be reminded there is a brick around your neck.
Unfortunately 'IMHO' I think there is no one perfect strap but this is the case with most things.
This strap will easily fill the gap for things like day walks and hiking.

Comfort wise I am very happy, longevity??? well it's too soon to say but I hope I can update this in 5 years time with another positive review.

I like this strap very much. It feels like your camera weigh lesser, that's because of the comfortability it gives your shoulder or neck depending on how you use it.
I personally use it like a shoulder bag that hangs on my right shoulder and as an added bonus, it also has a slip-free pads. So no need to worry about dropping your camera because it slips off your shoulder.
Overall, very nice camera strap and would recommend it to everyone anytime.

The best thing about this strap is that it distributes the load (weight) of the camera (d300 with extra hand grip) adequately while around your neck. While the neoprene looks kind of cheap (cut from some large piece of stock), so far, so good. Certainly beats the Nikon OEM strap, which doesnt provide much support/comfort at all.

I was using the stock Nikon neck strap on my D200 for about two years when I decided that I was tired of the chafing. While it isn't a heavy camera, I have a zoom that increases the weight substantially. Hauling that around for the better part of a hot day really rubbed my neck raw. The Op/Tech stays on my shoulders and distributes the weight more evenly. I would buy this strap again.

I currently use this strap on a 1D Mk II, often paired with a 70-200 2.8 zoom. Even after hours in the field this strap remains comfortable and stays put. If you're still using that cotton canvas strap that came with your camera - throw it away now and buy this strap. Your shoulders, back, and neck will thank you.

I bought my 30D used, and the guy did not supply me with a strap, which wasn't a big deal at the time, but now after having it for a couple months the last thing I wanted to was drop it. I had a canon strap when I had my XT, and remembered not liking too much. And after researching, I came upon this strap and love it. I wouldn't get another one. The padding is much more durable and softer then the typical canon strap. I highly recommend this strap.
