I'm using these connectors as part of a quick release for my camera straps.
With most camera neck straps with a quick release, when the strap is removed you still have a pair of 4-6" long straps with plastic buckles hanging from the camera. I found those to be extremely annoying, and always in my way.
These Op Tech connectors along with some swivel hook connectors let me attach my UPstrap for shoulder carrying or Op Tech Pro strap for neck carrying. When no strap is on the camera, I barely even notice these connectors. They're also extremely easy and quick to remove/attach.
