Comments about Kata Kata DB-455 DPS Series Digital Bag for a Camera, Laptop and Personal Day to Day Gear - Black:

This is a great bag! The main compartment contains a dedicated laptop area in the back and a removable soft-shell container with three separate compartments that holds your camera. The main compartment zips shut with a top flap. There's also one zippable front compartment with the usual pen / phone / keys / card inserts, and one small, zippable front compartment for change, etc. There's also a top flap that can be buckled shut, covering all of the above.

Carrying this bag on the plane, I fit in a laptop + extended life battery, 2 books, camera bag, and some some breakfast bars into the main compartment. My camera bag held a telephoto lens, battery charger + cable, usb cable, entry-level DSLR + normal lens, and a set of filters with ease - instead of filters, I could have fit in a flash or another telephoto lens.

While walking around during my travels, I left my laptop and books in the hotel and used the bag to carry various odds and ends, in addition to the camera. The DB-455 is not very flashy and does not advertise that you are carrying around a camera.

The bag has a 55lb weight tolerance, and I plan to remove the camera case and use this as a laptop + books messenger bag during the school year. It comes with a padded shoulder strap, and has a well-placed top handle to carry it around like a normal bag. The back of the bag also contains two flat bands that you can slide over the pull-handle on a suitcase or carry-on bag - another nifty feature.

I have three suggestions for Kata: Change the interior color to something other than canary yellow - it was prone to getting a bit dirty after frequent use. The yellow shell can be wiped down with a damp cloth though, and that's what I have been doing. It would also be great if the removable soft-shell camera case had loops on the side that I could attach the shoulder strap to, so i could take that around as a camera bag when needed. Finally, an exterior zippered compartment would come in very handy - even a small one to store tickets, change, and the such!

The DB-455 is extremely versatile, handy, and comes at a great price! Well suited for a traveller, student, or enthusiast. I've already recommended this to several friends.
