I needed a single, large bag to carry my old Bogen 3036 stick wiht 3047 head, Big fat Slik monopod, reflector holder, light boom, three smallish 8' light stands, some umbrellas, swivels, clamps, and doodads. I figured this would be long enough, but you never know how much stuff you can cram into a bag until you start cramming it in there.
I was thrilled: it all fits. I wrap my stuff a little to prevent dings and such, and still it all fits perfectly - perfect single source for a small location kit.
Next: I'm flying out of town for a shoot, and we'll see if the padding helps...and if the thing holds together.
Bought this to use for checked luggage for on a plane. Seams well padded for this purpose plus room for all my tripods and momopods.
The large Adorama universal tripod carrying softcase, Model DTCS45, is an excellent choice! It's not exactly as it is shown in the photo, and not exactly as described. But I did not know that. I did not have the specs, but ordered it anyway. It turned out to be even better for my purpose - universal use, but mainly to carry and protect any of my large tripods and heads. It's a long triangular tube, and not tapered from end to end.
I was looking for it's specs but couldn't find it anywhere. For the benefit of those who are searching, here it is - 45"Length x 9"Bottom x 2.5"Top x 10"Height. Outside pocket is 14"Length x 6"Height x 2"Width. Inside pocket is 10"Length x 6"Height x 0"Width, and is of the same material as the thick nylon lining. Large nylon zipper has two handles which may be locked together at whichever end or position. This bag is heavily padded at almost half an inch thick - 3/8 " - all over (except for the 2"Width of the outside pocket).
Unfortunately, the handles are without a cushion that holds them together, and the shoulder strap is also without a padding. Also, the handles could have been larger or adjustable so that the bag may be carried backpack style. It's nice if there had been more large pockets of the same size across the whole length of one side for a more balanced apppearance and usage. Also, it's nice if dividers may be added at any configuration, just like those in a camera bag.
Overall, this is a great bag for the price! Durable and built to last. I definitely would recommend it to a friend.

It's nice if there had been more large pockets of the same size across the whole length of one side (just like Pelican's model PCTB 38 or 48) for aesthetic reasons and usage. The bag is exactly as advertised, but I use the 13' Adorama stand which is 48" closed down, so my mistake on the length. Be careful and measure better than I did and all will be great
I got mine just before I took it to Alaska for twelve days. It kept my tripod safe and sound until I got back home where an airline baggage gorilla dropped it on the tarmac from wing level. Busted the head, but the bag came away without a snag. Hey, I got a new head and I still like the bag.
Great bag for transporting light stands.
