I have really enjoyed using Lightroom. I have always taken pictures in JPG mode because it's has been difficult to convert RAW files. Lightroom has made it easy for me to work with RAW files and that is all I shoot is in Raw format.

Adobe Lightroom has really streamlined my digital workflow. I now have the ability to edit my photos and color correct my images all in one program. It is a must-have for today's digital photographer.

The only con is that the program really bogged down my Macbook....but the "problem" was easily solved by adding more memory. (So, it was more of a problem with my computer and not Lightroom itself).

This was probably my best purchase of the year . I would definitely recommend this software to any professional, or aspiring photographer. It is worth the investment.

I am not a professional photographer, but I take a lot of pictures and like to shoot in RAW. This does a great job of processing RAW photos (better than Photoshop) and I love the RAW workflow. Keywords are easy to associate with the photos and easy to look up; a big improvement over Bridge. You can remain in RAW mode for printing and web creation. The adjustment tool is very powerful and I rarely need to go to Photoshop for any adjustments. It can be a little slow and everyone would benefit with the fastest computer they can afford. I would definitely recommend it to semi-serious to serious amateurs, especially if you like to shoot in RAW format.

Lightroom 2 is a giant step forward from Lightroom 1, and is more than worth the price of admission. The new features do take some computing power (I'm going to have to upgrade my set-up to take full advantage), but that's understandable considering the amount of information it is working with and how powerful it is.

If you don't already have Lightroom, let me just say that it makes being a digital photographer much more enjoyable. I cannot even imagine working without it.

If someone were to ask me what the most important things are for a starting photographer, I would say #1 a DSLR, and #2 Lightroom. It's that good.

I've been using version 1 for a year and Love it. I upgraded to Version 2.1 and it's very slow and crashes. The new feature for selective adjustments is so slow it's unusable. Wait for a new release and hopefully they will fix it.
