When I bought this item, I expected it to be the blue plastic one shown in the picture. Little did I know that I would be receiving a metal one, with a brushed metal finish. It seems to be very sturdy, and I have found it to be extremely easy to use.
It can be used by itself, or with the included USB cord, to insert into the USB port. There is more flexibility of use with this configuration.
I am very pleased with my purchase.

Though it would be another cheap plastic piece of junk- I was sort of right- it is cheap, e.g., (inexpensive) and it is made of plastic- but really does work, right out of the box, as advertised. Can't say enough good things about its performance.

This has been great! Been trying to find a way to tansfer my digital pictures so they could be printed. Just hook it up to the printer and print easy as that. Haven't run into any problems with it so far.

This is a great little reader and most will find it very useful. It only had one shortcoming. The USB cord seemed shorter than most.
