Unlike grey cards, Datacolor SpyderCube can do more than just adjust white balance. Thanks to its chrome ball on top and the black hole, it can help you with exposure adjustments as well.
I use to use ExpoDisc and I have switched to this as grey cards in general seems to provide more consistent results.
One down side of this is that, like grey cards, you have to ask your model to hand hold it next to their face. Unfortunately, unlike grey card you can ask subjects to 'face me', the Cube has many faces so you do need to explain that you want the pointy bit facing the camera with black hole pointing to your shoes (or something similar). I usually just walk up and ask them to 'hold it like this' and quickly take a reference shot but subjects do move. You can attach it to a stand and place that next to the subject but who's got the time to screw these things on a stand.
Overall, very happy with the Cube, high recommended!

Recording the Datscolor Spyder cube provides an excellent "in image' reference for determining the color temperature as "seen" by your camera as you take the shot. kamp3photo[@]
