Adobe claims that this will work with XP home edition but after many calls to Adobe, Dell and Microsoft, the program is not compatible as home edition does not allow non-sharing of folders and thus the editing portion of the program will not work as it requires private folders.

Adobe gives missleading information on the PhotoShop Elements 5. They say that it now suports 16bit files, but mentions nothing about how limitid the features are for the 16bit. And it is VERY limited. You can only use a few of the basic functions. In order to use all the features of this program, you have to convert your images to 8bit. If I would have known that it didn't have FULL suport of 16bit images, I never would have bought this software. The Elements I use now automaticly converts my images to 8bit and to me it is not worth the money for the couple of new features you get with this program. I have third party plug-ins that I use with my elemnets that work better that thenew features in Elements 5.
I also found it difficult to move around in an I don like the fact that everytime I wanted to save an image, it wanted to do it through it's "Origazer".
