Comments about LaCie LaCie Golden Single Drive Disk, 500 GB Disk Drive with USB 2.0 Interface, for Mac & Windows, 7200rpm, Ora-Ito Design:

I've bought 4 earlier LaCie drives including 3 Porsche designs (now discontinued) and have had good results with all.
The Golden finish shows finger prints but they ship a wipe cloth too.
This Golden drive like the Porsches has a power button on back, unlike newer & cheaper LaCie black box model. A major selling point for me.
I also like the longer 2 year warranty on this model.
Downside: it may be hard to stack several but it looks great at the top of the pile now and rubber feet mate with Porsche top grooves.
Golden runs quiet but a bit hotter than the earlier Porsches.
For Mac users like me, don't forget to reformat for HFS unless you plan to use with Windows also.
