Comments about CradlePoint CradlePoint PHS-300 Portable Personal WiFi Hotspot, Creates a Secure WiFi Hotspot from Broadband Enabled Cell Phones & Modems.:

I had used a friends PHS300 before, and needed similar convenience. The unit works great for portable multi-person use of wireless internet. The only drawback is not knowing the wireless signal strength (which you can see when using the mobile modem directly) and for me, no available Ethernet port (for work, I demonstrate a home router which needs an internet connection during software install. Have to tether to my computer's Ethernet instead). I use my AT&T phone to gauge signal strength and still use my Lighting modem directly in my computer quite a bit, but the convenience of the PHS300 is excellent. The setup was simple, and worked perfectly with my Lightning.
