Comments about Digital Foci Digital Foci Picture Porter Elite 40 GB - 3.6" Portable Digital Picture Viewer with 2.5" Hard Drive & Card Reader, Color: Black:

I purchased the 40GB Picture Porter Elite over a year ago. I'll start off by saying it is a very versatile unit which not only holds every type of digital data, it also displays RAW images in addition to the usual JPEG, BMP, etc., with histograms!, plays and records audio & video, has a music player with headphone jack, plays FM radio... well, read the item description and you can find out the rest.

I've used the unit for several wedding shoots and has performed flawlessly. It takes a little less than 10 minutes to copy a 2GB card, which is quick enough when you have extra memory cards on hand to use while transfering. And it takes most every popular memory card format, ie: CF, SD, Memory Stick. A very functional, all-in-one unit.

OK, major drawback: Photo display is poor, and is only useful as a thumbnail proof that the images have transfered successfully. It allows you to zoom and pan images, but resolution is blocky and not very detailed. The display quality on the Epsons far surpasses the PPE.

Conclusion: A reliable, versatile all-in-one hard drive that is tops for the price, if photo display is not your primary reason for purchase.
