Comments about HyperDrive Sanho HyperDrive Space, 120 GB Memory Card Backup Storage Device for 18 Types of Memory Cards.:
[...]The replacement unit seems to be working, though a few incidents give me pause: when I first tried to charge the unit, it shut itself off after a certain period (about an hour?) before it got fully charged; and once when connected only to my laptop, during which it tried to both charge and transfer files, it seemed to have problems charging and shut itself off, before the file transfer completed (this may or may not be related to my ancient laptop having a non-hi-speed USB; anyways, what I do now is connect it to the DC charger before connecting to my laptop, and it seems to work fine).Anyhow, with respect to how it performs when it works, I would give it six thumbs up -- file transfers are fast; it is very small, light and portable; interface is easy for simple tasks, takes a little getting used to for less-trivial tasks. My concern, however, is whether the unit is reliable, and whether I'll find it suddenly dead one of these days (the concern stemming only from the suspicious incidents mentioned above). The jury is still out on that aspect of the product.

This is a great device for traveling - especially when I don't want to bring a laptop - but want two master copies of my images. My other set is copied to an Epson P5000 + iomega drive. The HyperDrive is very fast (even with full verification) and works well with the faster CF cards; i.e. Sandisk Extreme III and IV. It supports SD, SDHC and xd, etc. as well for my point & shoots. Also, the hard drive is easy to upgrade and has internal software for formatting a new drive.
