I use this to provide color photos (up to 8x10) for my customers. They rave about the great color and quality of the prints they receive.
Purchased the printer and paper for my business. I prefer dye sub printouts over Inkjet. The prints from this small printer compare to my pro lab prints. I call the printer small because I have a lab printer whose realestate requires a large foot print in my studio and cannot be transported without a truck.
This has been a dream come true, because the printer cost was small and the print quality is fabulous. Since I can run a print immediately in house I don't find it expensive.
Do I love this setup? YES!!
I purchased the 1400 about 2 years ago and have had great results. It keeps up with the mass load of printing that I do, and it is very consistant. The only thing that I'm a little unhappy with is the results of the matte finish prints. Other then that the glossy prints are absolutly beatuiful.

I love the printer but...
the paper isn't heavy enough
the first few have spots
the paper ripples within a day
the driver is great with Photoshop but print size doesn't work properly with Apple's Aperture or iPhoto.
That being said, the prints are beautiful, fast, consistent.

I use this product everyday at my bussines, and think the world of it and would not buy anything else.

The Kodak Ektatherm 1400 Print Kit with Ribbon is a wonderful product that offers professional standard results with constant cost and quality. It is good to know the total cost of the end product will not fluctuate after I have made a bid or given an estimate and that the quality will be on par with my work.

overall good product but experience problems with ribbon breaking at installation at times.
