No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I ordered matte paper along with the MP460 Canon photo printer. I am disappointed that the MP460 prints a quality photo from the memory card (when inserted in the printer) but not from the PC. The Adorama service referred me to the Canon tech rep. He was helpful but said I should click on the advanced settings on the easy print software and should use glossy paper. The settings help but I have not tried glossy yet.

This is the best paper for photos I've found
