Comments about Canon Canon imagePROGRAF iPF5100 Photo Inkjet Large Format Printer, 8" - 17" Paper Width with Ethernet and USB 2.0 Interface:
It is a high quality printer, but it rejects paper fed into the top loading port far too often and it makes no difference what brand, type or thickness the paper may be. Only posters paper is designed to front load and I never use the cassette being a fine art photographer. It is very difficult to use. Finding out how to set the printer commands is a chore. They could take some lessons from Epson in how to better write a manual and design a printer for user friendliness. Upgrading media type is a big hassle and poorly thought out by Canon designers. It is far more complex than it should be to set up the print commands and use the printer. Canon people I have talked to simple said they got it right when they designed the 6100. What the hell kind of answer is that?l

Finally got the software downloaded from the Canon site, and got the printer working. Used up the sample roll of Premium Matte paper that comes with the printer. VERY pleased with the results! Now I just have to get a handle on calibrating and profiling...

Still evaluating. Included software CD does not include Windows 7. Downloaded software from Canon website, and have yet to get a print out of it.
