Comments about Lexar Lexar 8 GB Professional 300x UDMA Compact Flash Memory Card:

I purchased two of these for my D700 and in less than a month both cards failed and could not even be formatted. This review is purely based on that experience. I called support at Lexar (which is really Crucial), and they were very helpful. I had my two replacement cards within a week. I have now used them on one shoot and so far so good.

I shoot outdoor sports and with this card I don't worry about running out of memory. Even when I sometimes shoot raw there's no worry, and I have yet to run into an instance with waiting because of a full buffer. The speed and quality of this card is excellent.

This is one fast card; both in writing and reading speeds. This was a great bargain with the rebates offered for these cards....(thanks to Adorama and Lexar for that!!).

I would highly suggest getting the fastest CF Card Reader you can afford. I use the Hoomdman FW800 CF Card Reader...(with my MacPro)...and paired with a 300x CF card, it's a fast transfer; way, way faster than my old generic USB reader!!

Comments about Lexar Lexar 8 GB Professional 300x UDMA Compact Flash Memory Card:

I got this for use with the Nikon D3. So far it's not failed any challenge for speed. Capacity is great (almost too much, but I use a pair in backup mode, so 300~450 images on one card isn't quite so scary).

I haven't had it long enough to speak to long term reliability, but I have no reason to doubt it.

Comments about Lexar Lexar 8 GB Professional 300x UDMA Compact Flash Memory Card:

Just needed a speedy, and reliable card. I have used Sandisk, Kingston, Centon, Trancend, and Sony cards in the past. None of them catches the speed of thsi UDMA card. Sure, it is a little pricey, but you pay what you get for: Speed, Reliability, No Gimmicks, and it even worked without a glitch with my older reader. I was thrilled. This card just whips through the pics transfer where I had to wait before with my other cards. I definitely recommended this card.

It gave me to many problems. During an important studio photo shooting when I wanted to download in my laptop it stopped reading. I tried USB form camera and card-reader but didn't work. I tried later home and it worked but days later stopped again. I tried to clean it with no results. I tried Lexar site but I'm to busy to spend hours online or on the phone for a CF. Is garbage and I had to move on. As famous the brand is, I'll NEVER buy Lexar again.

Comments about Lexar Lexar 8 GB Professional 300x UDMA Compact Flash Memory Card:

Lexar is the top of the heap. More Pro Photographers rely on their strong Compact Flash products and the recovery software that comes with them. The product is among the fastest at upload and download speeds. That means quicker frame rates in the full-frame DSLR's, and more images before that rate slows with a filling cache. UDMA compatible card reader is needed for fastest download-to-computer speeds. Unequaled reliability, performance and customer service. Watch for sales or rebates to help make them affordable.

Comments about Lexar Lexar 8 GB Professional 300x UDMA Compact Flash Memory Card:

Nikon D300 has a relatively large buffer size - about 19 shots for RAW, however, that buffer is easily overflown and miss the shot if you are shooting with 8 frames/sec. I was using 4GB 133x Lexar and Sandisk Extreme III (20MB/sec version) and although those cards are not really slow cards, sometimes those cards just cannot keep up with D300.

This card offers the speed I was looking for -- I can still squeese the shutters 2 or 3 more shots before the buffer is totally full. I will keep my old 4GB CF cards, but this card will surely stay in my D300 for most of time.

Comments about Lexar Lexar 8 GB Professional 300x UDMA Compact Flash Memory Card:

I upgraded from a 133x, 2GB CF of a different brand and can really see the difference. Jumping to 8GB mean swapping cards less, and the write speed is phenomenal. Highly recommend 300x for rapid shooting.

Comments about Lexar Lexar 8 GB Professional 300x UDMA Compact Flash Memory Card:

I have two other cards, only smaller ones. Needed another one as my son is going to EAA to help and needs the camera to take some photos with the Rebel XTi. This card is great! Not only can you get a lot of pictures on them, it downloads fast and the pictures are clear and crisp. Taking photos of F-16 and F-22's in flight is not easy, but he even gets the condensation on the wings at a crystal clear pictures. Wouldn't use anything else.

I use it too as I am a PAO for the Civil Air Patrol and takes LOTS of pictures. Always ready to go and able to take action pictures.

Comments about Lexar Lexar 8 GB Professional 300x UDMA Compact Flash Memory Card:

Have quite a few 2 gb and 4 gb CF cards I use and only one is not a Lexar. Still find myself filling them up too fast, so I took the plunge and bought an 8 gb card. It writes fast and, so far, like all my Lexar cards, has been dependable. With memory prices always coming down, I'll add at least one more to my bag.

The Lunar Eclipse was the first time using this card and it was -39 Celceus, the cold was biting my skin. I was shooting with my D2XS and F4-600. The cards capability to capture as fast as I shoot was unparalled to any other CompactFlash card I've used. Excellent card Lexar.

Comments about Lexar Lexar 8 GB Professional 300x UDMA Compact Flash Memory Card:

We use this product in Canon 20D and 5D respectively. Extremely reliable and fast.

Might something like this but with more capacity replace Mini DV, HD-DV and Mini CD recording media in the future? Say 16GB x2 in a Camcorder, amateur or pro= 32GB HDD, no? No moving parts, wheels, sprockets, belts... Battery will also last longer... I'm sayin'...
Unfortunately however, the bundled Image Recovery v3.0 software that comes with the CF card is totally useless. V2.0 was infinitely better.

You can also 'daisy chain' multiple readers for fast parallel transfers from multiple cards.
