Comments about Lexar Lexar Professional Series CompactFlash (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) UDMA Dual-Slot High Speed Card Reader with USB Interface:

If you shoot with Lexar UDMA Professional CF cards, this is the reader for you. Since I only use CF cards, the compact design does away with the clutter of other multiple-in-1 configurations. Reader snaps shut within a case to keep out unwanted objects when not in use. Numerous RAW files can be loaded to folders on external drives in no time. Highly recommended.

Use for transferring photos to computer.
I thought the speed would be ultra fast, it is speedy, but not quite as I had hoped.
I like the design, and it is so easy to get started, no lag time. All in all quite the piece of equipment.

This product is used to transfer pictures from my cards to my computer. It's fast. I don't use an SD card so that part is useless to me. I would recommend this reader. I purchased it because of the name and price range.

Comments about Lexar Lexar Professional Series CompactFlash (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) UDMA Dual-Slot High Speed Card Reader with USB Interface:

Works great with UDMA (Delkin 1GB UDMA) CF cards; less great with non-UDMA (Lexar 4GB 133x) CF cards--which seem to work better with an older USB2 (SanDisk) reader.

Comments about Lexar Lexar Professional Series CompactFlash (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) UDMA Dual-Slot High Speed Card Reader with USB Interface:

This is a nice dock. I needed to get it for a SD card-using camcorder. File transfer times are much slower then my SanDisk Firewire CF reader for CF cards. Wish I had been able to find a firewire SD reader!

Comments about Lexar Lexar Professional Series CompactFlash (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) UDMA Dual-Slot High Speed Card Reader with USB Interface:

I have a canon 50D and I use a sandisk UDMA 16GB card. I needed a fast transfer device for my laptop, so I had to go USB because the all the other one that are firewire require external power. I was so impressed with this item, it is very fast, all my pictures come up on my card which sometimes has over 1500+ pictures, within 3-4 minutes. Viewing of the pics are super fast just like having them on the hard drive. This is a must if you use a UDMA card!!

Comments about Lexar Lexar Professional Series CompactFlash (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) UDMA Dual-Slot High Speed Card Reader with USB Interface:

I bought this to dump the images off of my 8GB Lexar UDMA compliant CF cards. This reader makes that task a lot faster than other card readers I have. I realize that it is not as fast as Lexar's Firewire 800 reader, but I use a PC laptop and that one wasn't an option. It installed on Windows XP and Windows 7 Beta with no problems or effort. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is using UDMA compliant CF cards.

Comments about Lexar Lexar Professional Series CompactFlash (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) UDMA Dual-Slot High Speed Card Reader with USB Interface:

Attractive design. Seems well-built. Highly portable. Both CF and SD cards are a bit hard to insert and remove, but this is no real issue, and may improve over time. Despite the positive comments, I would probably never have bought this particular reader had it not be for the sizeable rebate.

Comments about Lexar Lexar Professional Series CompactFlash (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) UDMA Dual-Slot High Speed Card Reader with USB Interface:

Over the years my CF cards have gotten larger and the number of pictures taken during an outing keeps growing. Downloading a full card could take 30+ minutes with my old reader. I decided to try something newer to see if I could save some time. The first time I used it was to download just a dozen or so of photos. My old reader would take about 90 seconds to do this. I started the transfer, looked away for a couple of seconds and when I looked back, it wasn't transferring anymore. I assumed it had a problem as this seemed too quick but was pleasantly surprised to see it had already finished! I was hoping to see a 2 to 3 times speed increase, but it has been closer to 10!

Comments about Lexar Lexar Professional Series CompactFlash (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) UDMA Dual-Slot High Speed Card Reader with USB Interface:

OK, so it's not the sexiest piece of gear you'll buy by wow is this card reader fast. I actually can't believe how much less time it takes to import files than over USB from the camera. Maybe everyone already knows this but I didn't. If you're in the market for a card reader, this one is compact, fast and simple to use. I'm not sure it needs to do more than that.

Comments about Lexar Lexar Professional Series CompactFlash (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) UDMA Dual-Slot High Speed Card Reader with USB Interface:

This Lexar card reader is probably one of the best USB readers available. It is a USB connection, so it definately isn't as fast as a firewire reader, but it is much faster than other USB readers I've tried. It's compact...travels easily...hookup is simple. I've always favored Lexar products, and this one doesn't disappoint.

I use this device to read the 300x UDMA CF Lexar cards used in my Nikon D300 and the 133x SD cards from some of my other cameras. I get noticeably faster downloads than my previous card reader. I liked the first one so much, I bought another for my office.

Comments about Lexar Lexar Professional Series CompactFlash (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) UDMA Dual-Slot High Speed Card Reader with USB Interface:

This CompactFlash and SD/MMC reader was immediately recognized by my ASUS eee sub-notebook. This allows me to copy images to a portable hard drive (rather slowly) while traveling light.

The reader shows up as two drives, one for each slot, and you can copy from a SD card directly to a CompactFlash card or vice versa is desired. If you use the 'Safely Remove Hardware' before unplugging a memory card, you'll need to unplug the reader from the USB port and reinsert the plug to get the computer to recognize another card (I just unplug the card after ensuring no program has the card open in Windows XP but dismount when in Linux - 'disconnect' in the eee's file manager).

It took an IBM T43 computer 8 min 5 sec to copy a fully loaded 8 GB Sandisk Extreme III CompactFlash card to the T43 hard drive and 7 min 45 sec using a Delkin Cardbus 32-Bit High Speed Compact Flash Card Adapter. I encourage other users with higher speed cards and adapters using UDMA technology to report their results. I'm entirely satisfied with the timings for my personal use, but professionals may desire faster transfer times.
