I first came into contact with the Delkin Reader at the Adorama Store when I needed to download my photos. So simple and easy to use. Photos downloaded flawlessly. Then I went to purchase one for myself I saw that the price was just amazing. Thanks Adorama, I'm a fan for life!
I was very disappointed with this product. Delkin has a very good name. But when I received this reader I found the SD slot to be extremely tight. So much so that I feared damaging my sd cards by inserting and removing them. To be fair, I don't know if this is unique to the particular unit I got or is a design defect common to all units in this model line.
To their credit Delkin support was excellent and allowed me to return it.
Works as advertised. The Secure Digital is quite tight and worries me that it may someday damage the memory card. I wouldn't mind paying twice the amount if the card reader were built more ridgidly. Occassionally, on my PC when I right click and request an Eject, nothing happens. Next time I put a memory card in, Windows Explorer may not read it. Reboot corrects problem. Really don't care for this. Older card reader (which I use for Compact Flash Card never behaves like this.
Have used the two major makers but needed one for my phone cards with SD micro and I am pleased with the adaption.
Fast image transfers from all my various camera memory cards. Works every time regardless of card or computer used.
Works much easier and faster than I thought it would. Don't know why I waited so long to buy this type of product. It downloads my big file jpgs into iPhoto or Photoshop Elements on my Mac about 3 times faster than the camera does and I never have to worry about my camera battery quiting midway in the session.
It's a joy to use.
