Pros:

This reader works well with my 4 and 8 GB SanDisk cards. File transfer was very fast compared to my other card readers. The package also shipped with file recovery software that I have not tried yet, so I can't comment on it's performance. Overall, the reader seems very well constructed, has an attractive design, and although I've only had a chance to use it a couple times it appears to perform well. I have no regrets about this purchase.

Great card reader for the price. I just wish Sandisk would make faster reader with USB connection. I know they have the Extreme Firewire but on a notebook with a 4 pin firewire connection, it won't work. This is the one to buy, unless you want to pay $80, for the faster Lexar.

This device is simply a must have for digital photographers. It's transfer time for SD cards is extremely fast, and I can upload my 2GB card in just minutes. I just plugged it in and within seconds, Windows XP Pro recognized it and it was ready to use.

I do not have any SDHC cards, and wasn't sure this device would read them after seeing other reviews. Mfgr's literature isn't very clear, yet the device itself indiscates SDHC at the SD slot. I'll be picking up an SDHC card soon, because I'm going through my 2GB cards too quickly, so I'll find out soon enough what it's capabilities are.

Highly recommend this reader for both CF and SD cards!

Excellent, and economical enough that I am buying a third unit so I can have one permanently installed on my desktop, one in my laptop kit, and one in my camera bag.

Occasional problems mounting CF cards
By MikeVerified Purchaser from FL on 2/21/2008

Works as it should most of the time. Occasionally does not mount CF cards on my Mac pro. Solved by unplugging and re-plugging the usb cable, never faced such an issue on a previously used slower, no-brand name multi card reader.

adequate but not great

Pros:

Cons:
Poor Interface, Unreliable transfer

Digital Capture, Digital Photography

I am a bit disappointed with this unit. I use it for both compact flash, and SD cards, and I find that it sometimes times takes a while of fiddling with the SD card -- removing it, putting it back in, and repeating this sometimes as many as 4 or 5 times, before it actually connects with my computer.

I seem to have much less trouble with the Compact Flash.

Being a lightweight USB unit, it is handy to have and take with me on shooting trips -- but because of the above, frustrating to use.

I would have preferred the faster unit, but since it only comes as a firewire (my laptop is not so equipped), I opted for this one.

It does the job, but is certainly nothing to write home about.

Fast, very fast for both raw and jpeg's. I didn't think I could get this speed without a firewire connection, but I am very happy with its transfer speeds.

I've owned the older version of this reader for about 2years. Great product just cannot find mine so had to order a new. If mine had not been lost theres is no question it would still be going strong.

This thing takes a beating and keeps on ticking, its been thrown across rooms, slammed around, at one point it was cracked and duct taped together and still working. doesn't get any better than that.

Simple, fast, and it just works. The best card reader for the price that I've had so far (Extreme IV) is faster but much pricier.

One of my most intelligent purchases. Took the risk and went for a lower cost option, when there was a more expensive product from the same company.

The results are completely satisfactory for me. With my older card reader, it would take upwards of 20min to empty a 2GB card with D200 RAW files. The time my friends has been slashed to less than 5 min. Handling RAW has become much much "un-RAW'er".

Pros:
Fast, Good Value, High Quality
Bottom Line:

If you need the ultimate, get the Sandisk extreme IV; however, this card gives about 2/3 of the speed at 1/3 of the price, and handles both CF and SD cards. It is _really_ fast compared with other card readers I have. [...]
