After 63 cd's backing up my photos I decided to try this hard drive as an alternative. Seems to work great...simple...USB powered.

I took this drive to Europe to use as backup for my PC laptop and Nikon D200 digital camera. It worked like a champ. But I can't get it to operate (spin) on most Macs which are the machines I normally use for editing. I have another (older) portable drive that works flawlessly on all Macs and PCs, but it uses Firewire, and has the Oxford911 chipset. I'm sure the Firelite would work on my Macs if it had the external power supply option, but that sort of defeats the purpose.
